old thread but
several of us have been using Pennzoil because is 1/3 the cost and ease to find.
I found this online:
Pennzoil® Synchromesh Fluid is designed to offer optimal protection for moderately loaded gears in manual transmissions. Containing a high detergent additive system, it helps cope with water, dust, dirt, and any other small deposits you might encounter on or off-road1. Pennzoil® Synchromesh Fluid also offers synchronizer compatibility for performance in manual transmissions, specifically to fulfill the needs of Chrysler, GM, Honda and other transmission requirements.
Pennzoil® Synchromesh Fluid meets General Motors specification 9985648 for use where GM part numbers 12345349 or 12345577 are called out for use. Chrysler manual transmission fluid specification MS-9224 is also met. This high quality manual transmission fluid is formulated for good low temperature flow to maintain shift characteristics even after a cold night2. Corrosion protection is added to help protect your transmission.

I just bought a new TKO, is there any type of break-in-period, with shifting, fluid etc..?
I don't have my trans at home to read the manual.

A 500-mile break-in period will prevent premature wear and possible damage to the transmission. During the break-in period, you must avoid high RPM shifts and drag starts. The clutch must be fully disengaged to shift the transmission. Do not use excessive force when shifting the transmission. If you experience clash shifts (grinding), check the travel of the clutch to ensure proper air-gap is achieved (see above). Another possible cause of clash shifting is improper transmission installation, (excessive driveline angle / resulting in poor driveline alignment). Do not attempt to shift the transmission when the engine is revving over 6,500 RPM’s. Do not hold the transmission in gear by applying force on the shifter. This will damage the pads on the shift forks and may result in significant damage to the transmission.

I pretty much drive the same, as you don't have to treat and beat a tranny to death, even if racing. Same thing with engines. (and my wife)
I've never used a mic to run in the bellhousing for dead on line up of the fly, disk, bell and trans, with no issues in the past, but I'm going to with this new drivetrain. A friend has a magnetic dial indicator, so it'll be interesting. I need to order a throwout and pilot bearing.
Do you know where I can buy a bell to fork boot ?
I have a new Quicktime.

If blykins is still talking to you, you might try him. If not, try Mike Forte Fortes Part's Connection | Quality high performance parts at the most competitive price Personally, I think TKOs are more sensitive to having the bellhousing dialed in as close to perfect as you can get. QTs are far better than Lakewoods on that, but try and get it as close to perfect as you can.
