Was it because of the pro-street look and the 6-71 blower popping through the hood?
That doesn't make sense.

I had no idea why the other owners were like that untill it was time to do a lunch time drive around the track(Laguna Seca) and they almost had a fist fight over who was going first.
After seeing all of that, I just went home.

Good one Jim!
Funny thing is I suspect I know what show he was at and know at least one of the Roadster owners at the show.
I think we have a great fraternity, and very little ego. We go on rides and have folks with other makes go most of the time. It is very interesting to most of us to hear other peoples experience with their particular make.
Some of us will be at Road Atlanta this weekend supporting a few local spec racers, and everyone is invited to come hang with us!
Frankly I don't see many of the other makes at track days, or Autocross, or even HPDE.
AtlantaCobra do you work out at the fitness place on PIB and Rogers Bridge?

I've never had any other Cobra owners snub me, just the typical crap at the car shows... You'll hear people walk up and say that it's fake. To bad, so sad... It's my fake. And I love it!
I feel sorry for the guys with a "real" Cobras who are afraid to drive them.
On the other hand, my fake, was built to drive, and I do! (In no way do I consider it fake.)
I could care less what other people say. Tho I do hate it when others apologize for not having the same thing as I have. I'd rather see a variety of Cobras, cars, etc. If we were all the same, what a boring world we'd have. I think people who feel insecure have a need to sound stupid, and they usually do.

For the most part, I think Cobra owners are great. We appreciate each others hard work. At a recent car show, we had 12 Cobra's that represented several manufacturers including a continuation CSX and an original Cobra. According to the show organizer, the lone ERA didn't want to park with the rest of us and parked elsewhere. I see that kind of attitude often with "checkbook builders" of all types of cars. I guess that says it all.

Guess it's a chance thing because I've never been snubbed by any Cobra or Corvette owner. Recently our club had a breakfast meet, there were 10 Cobra's in the lot. The Corvette club pulled up in a lot across a 5 lane road. There were several of those guys that came over to look at our cars. I had a gentleman sit in mine, and then offer to buy it. Other Cobra guys, never been snubbed by them, no matter what the make. I've found that car guys are different. Many are outgoing, loud, obnoxious but just as many are quiet, reserved and respect other people's efforts. This is the case with a Cobra owner with a B&B kit. He at first was very standoffish, seemed to look down his nose at my car, but now, he and I get along great, he has complemented the color of my car many times and has helped me put it back together after my winter mods. Maybe it just takes breaking the ice with someone that appears to be looking down their nose. As for the manufacturer thing, I don't know, I sometimes get that from any car guy with any manufacturer.

Hey there. Nope, I don't work out at that place, but I know where you're talking about. I live just a couple miles away. Maybe we'll run into each other sometime (not literally I hope )
I didn't mean to stand back and throw any grenade's with this topic. I agree that it's certainly the exception, not the norm for these types of folks. By and large people love to ask questions and say great things and share facts about their different makes. It's just those few FFR guys - totally kidding. I've met a lot of those guys and they're great.
Would love to hook up with anyone in the North Atlanta area for a ride sometime. Can't do this weekend for a softball tournament takes priority.
Hope to see you all around over the summer!

I drove by there one day and there was a gray or dark silver Roadster parked there, thought it might be yours.
I try to post over here when we go for a ride, but don't be afraid to keep a close eye on what we are up to. We generally try to keep up to date in the Southeast forum, which is here:

I'm at Old Peachtree and I-85, so around the corner from you as well.

Ok, although I own a Factory Five, I did not build it. Like was previously mentioned, maybe it's the fact that someone spent a lot of time and less money to get a car looking like a SPF that turns them off to SPF. I know from talking to an SPF owner, they have their own group that no one else is invited to. This SPF owner has told me about conversations on the group where "all F5R owners think their sh$t don't stink". Guess I'm the exception, because I know mine does I've only been snubbed by factory classic cars - old vettes, mustangs, '57 chevy's etc.... guess because it's not a factory car, but it is a hot rod, so what difference does it make? The important thing is, we all have fun, except for Clois, man that guy is stuck up Just kidding.

Hey, we're really close to each other.....I'm at Sugarloaf and Old Peachtree - Parsons Plantation subdivision across from Hull Middle.
I've checked out the FFcobra website before and it's pretty nice. I'll try to look for you guys taking a ride and show up as the red headed step child -
