High Maintenance - is that referring to the Cobra or the lady driving it?

I was noticing here a few members posting regularly with no information in there profiles, no pictures to share and no usefull things to say other than waiting for the oportunity to sail into another member for something they said.
I fell in love witht the Cobra and came her to fuel that passion. I came her to further my education on all things Cobra related but realized not everyone here had the same agenda. Not everyone is here for the cars. The few are here for their own egos. They try to show everone how educated they are,so they think. How sharp their tounges are. I can't be bothered. Life is too short. I came for the comradery, not the competition.
Sad to say I lurk here but post very rarely. I feel like I don't contribute as much as I would like to, and have felt guilty about that, since many members have been very helpfull to me,and I have made a few good friends here. But I have learned that I enjoy the hobby more this way.
A "broken" record generally won't play anything at all. It's a "stuck" record that continually plays the same track, thus forcing you to push the needle over a bit creating the "scraaattccchhhh" sound that we are all so fond of. Just another common misconception that bore correcting -- you know, like continuation Cobras being real.
I like it here , I think i'll stay for a while and if i read something here i dont like then i'll pass over it and enjoy the things i do like ............it's like T.V. if you don't like it change the channel...........
This is the way it should be. I don't see something I like, I turn it off.
Just started and drove mine for the first time today. The ERA section should be required reading for anyone building their own ERA car.
This site is a wealth of information. What is needed is an education process to let the "newbees" search for the answers instead of creating a new and dare I say tired thread.

Hey Dave,
I am still here for a little while every day but in my defense most of the problems that myself and others had 10 years ago have all been resolved and when someone does post a problem they are answered pretty quickly by some of our very knowledgable people. Our new members have taken on a new leadership role and that is the way it should be...Some of us ole Farts are just relief pitchers at best.

I second that. Cobra is finished, but I still check in every other day or so. Most of the time the questions are already answered. If I can help I'll chime in. I received a lot of help during my build and I am thankfull to all that took the time to answer my posts.
I came here because Brent had this idea that a bunch of guys with a common car interest would like to talk and share ideas.
And, through the course of time I have made some wonderful friends. People that I can talk to without having them jump down my throat because they don't necessarily see eye to eye with me.
But I have to say, I have watched this past couple years change CC.
The original premise of this club has slipped. The comrades we were, we are no more. Yes, a few people will come to a cause, but there is more fighting ( call it what you will ) than there ever was. Name calling for the sake of name calling and antagonism seems to be the directive of the day.
Are we really that hateful of our brothers that we really mean the crappy things we are saying?
I suppose this will not get far, but I hear from members that once loved coming here, drifting away.
I wonder if this should be the "you better think this way club"
Rant over.
Gee, I don't see the fighting you speak of. I don't read the threads that often but I have always felt that this forum has been a great mechanism to aire issues and have questions addressed/answered.

My point was very simple. Not surprising it was lost here with most seeing only the "REAL vs. not Real" issue and retorting with snide comments and that my interest is in only one subject.
Lets try this again...
Regardless of subject, with the "REAL vs. Not real" being one of the top issues that brings out the most acidic vitriol and personal attacks and (IMHO) the nastiness around this site and it has been a problem for years.
The original thread starter is on to something. Ernie is right also.
This is one of the reasons I have lost alot (not all however) of interest in this site.
Flame on.
Takes care.
