Seriously, thanks for the compliment.

I doubt that car sold to anyone. That is just my take. He was looking for $75K and would not sell for less. I just didnt see it as investment vehicle for anything over $65K. Once again only my opinion.

I don't think it will be going any higher than $75K, so the "winning bidder" seems to have gotten a decent deal for a Kirkham. For my $75K, I'd take Sal's CSX4241.

Good answer and certainly you're choice. Great car - BTW even with the added weight of the paint.

remove the fake bidders and i would have been surprised if it had made it into the mid 60's given the photos and description.
hell, paul@kennel had to work that really nice 289fia car in the seventies for some time before someone stepped up to the plate.
might be a okay car but i now see a seller that was willing to play games.
just list it at $75k or best offer on ebay instead........if that's what it takes

Well, I see there is a lot of discussion about my car. Although I really don't care one way or the other if you bid or not, I'll clear up a few things for everyone's benefit. The car only has the mileage shown (517). Yes, the car is dirty, but it's really just dust. Yes, I've only recently purchased a CalCarCover (still in box). I have been too busy with other projects, a 3-year old and a 6-month old. I did not spend anytime cleaning it up as I have had pneumonia for the past 3 months and am still not completely better. Yet, there are no scratches, no dents ...as the gentlemen that clearly wasted an hour an a half of my time might try to lead you to believe. The tires are what came with the car four years ago. My particular SA build has been rock solid other than it sucked a intake gasket and has had minor oil leaks ever since. The photos were taken in the street in front of my house and there was not a big oil stain. My SA has never overheated even in the middle of summer. I attribute that to the Swain Tech header coating. If you happen to have any knowledge of Swain coatings, you'll know it only comes in white. Really didn't think that white would be a good look, so I sprayed painted them high heat black paint as recommended by Swain. As for shill bidding allegations, not true. I'm guessing that you think the 0 transaction bidders are shill. In fact one is an Italian and the high bidder (as of the last time I looked) is legit. I went so far as to attain his contact info this morning from eBay and have had phone communications. My wife (an attorney for over 10 years) has told me that if anyone says anything that is truly untrue, that could be defamation or tortious interference, so please think twice before attacking me or the car any further. Sorry this is so long winded and if anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me at 713-859-7889. Thanks for the heads up on this thread, flytomaui.
Regards,
Wahoo65/defusa

Well, if we could find a decent attorney on this forum we'd know whether that was true or not.

But would that mean it was "truly untrue", or just untrue?

Ain't that the truth. But seriously, did you know that many Homeowner's policies cover you for on-line defamation claims? Yep. So you might already be insured against those nasty nuisance lawsuits we all get from time to time from just having fun on line. Next time you chat with your insurance agent you might ask him, or her, if you're covered (and if you're not I'm sure he'll add an endorsement for virtually nothing). There, that's my pro bono work for the year.

Yeah, that's a fair price. In my opinion the critiques of the car's condition and SOME speculation required due to lack of hard facts were pretty accurate and without malice. It is what it is.
Was that the Southern Automotive motor in the Kirkham? Not exactly helping their reputation with a sucked intake gasket, minor oil leaks and only 500 miles. FE's don't have to leak, period, there is no excuse.

A couple of years ago I saw a brushed finish Kirkham at a local cruise in. The guy had not had it out for quite awhile and had not maintained the brushed finish. Frankly, the car didn't look good at all. While it WAS clean, it LOOKED "dirty" and unkempt with scuff marks here and there.
It's not like you can throw on a coat of wax or even easily just simply wash the car with a brushed finish. A little to much work for me, but yeah, they look awesome when cared for properly.
