Word has it that Paul and Lauren are finishing up construction on a new 7,000 sq.ft. race shop. They will contest the entire Trans Am season with a new car and possibly switch body styles from the traditional Mustang

I haven't heard about Rich; I hope he comes back - I'll miss them "birds" of his . . .

Mr. Gentillozzi better watch out this year - Butch Leitzinger is gonna run the whole season in a Corvette with Tom Gloy racing. To watch Butch wrestle one of them Busch North stockcar around Lime Rock is truly astounding!

Default King fan

I live in Level Cross, just down the road from the King. Just gotta love the man and his sport if you live here! He puts a lot into the community he lives in (Victory Junction Gang, new ambulance, board of commissioners,etc.). Interesting story on the ambulance, he demanded that his have chrome wheels so it would be different than all the rest. That way he could look at an ambulance and if it had chrome wheels he could say "that's the one I bought". But he has resisted the temptation to move his business to Mooresville like so many other teams have done and kept it in Level Cross. Wish we had more like him.

JM, who are you kiddin, you ain't no Nascar fan. Dem boyz knows how to handle a racecar. Trans am is OK but they only have a handfull of well funded teams. Always the same couple of guys up front.
Just wait till I get your butt to Bristol and then you can tell me about being a Nascar fan.

I always kid around about NASCAR. I tell my buddies at work that NASCAR racing is the "Velveta Cheese" of motorsports.

Interestingly, a Top Fuel Dragster has more horsepower in ONE CYLINDER than an entire NASCAR engine!!

Good piont Ed,
And they probably can get about 4 seconds or 1/4 mile on each rebuild.
vs 500 miles for a Nascar motor. Cranky

At one of the NHRA events, we were walking around the pits, and one of the Top Fuel guys was pulling the rod and main bearings out of the bottom of the engine. My buddie says to him, "How long do those bearings usually last?" The guy repied, "About halfway down the track".

Not supprising when you think they put out about 10,000 pounds of torque.

Default Cranky you're right.....

...I guess if your definition of a 'fan' means smelling Rusty Wallaces shorts, then you are correct.....

....you ARE a Nascar fan and I'm not.

I'll remember that the next time you decide to hold up my trailer.

But that's my opinion.

Jeff Neely:

Bill Elliot? Please. Why doesn't his sponser teach him how to talk. He is a perfect example why some people still think Nascar is for a bunch of hill billys.

Cool All you NASCAR fans

Ok, for the 30 of you that have said that you are NASCAR fans... Do any of you want to trade for 2 or 4 Bristol spring race tix, both Busch & Cup... I'm looking for spring or fall Richmond race tix with cash for difference... My tix are top row of front straight @ end of pit row... Would like to trade for similiar @ Richmond... E-mail me at spotterjoe@excite.com... Do not wish to sell these tix, only trade... Also don't ask about fall tix as Mrs. Mc spotter & I as well as Cranky Mc Nascar have dibs on these...

Go 28 & 88,

Mc spotter

Speed channel for me is way over the top with nascar, I just counted up the hours from 6:00 am to 6:00 am, there is 14 hrs of nascar, way too much for me, especially the reruns of old races, man that is as bad as espn classics, it will probably save me some cash though as when I signed up for speedvision it put me in another tier with my cable company, I will be able to go back to basic service.

Is this NASCAR thing on the Speed Channel going to be continuous, or is it just to get people ready for Daytona?
