Dan Rat, most any feed and grain place has a certified scale and will give you an accurate weight for just a few dollars.

Me thinks you need to get it weighed. I got mine done and it weighs 2160. Take it out and get it weighed.

The scale part is easy and cheap. Dan, we have a rock and stone retailer just N. of Deer Valley and about 21st or 22 Ave. They have a scale used to determine the weight of flag stone or whatever and a before/after check of the vehicle tells them what you loaded.
Every time I have taken a car there they are happy to trade a look at the car for a quick trip over the scale. If you don't need a printout have a pen and paper ready to record the readings. The scale display is on the side of the building and the numbers are about 24 inches tall. If they are not busy they let me roll the front axle on for a reading, then stop in the center of the scale for a gross weight and a quick rear axle weight as I pull the car to the end of the scale.
This method is not as precise as doing all 4 corners independently but works for me.

DWRAT, we will probably do our yearly "Weigh-In" next month. We use four scales and can give you the total, and the front to rear. Only a couple of the Phoenix guys have come down here for it, you might ask Karl what he thinks of the job that we do.

If you use helium in your tires it will weigh less.

Congrats Dan.
I get a number of ricers or kids of execs ( living in Detroit means their cars are not -- stock ).
Most of the time I like the, "I don't need to, I look better than you." comment.
Congrats!

The run up to see the Tucson guys will nail down your car weight for sure. I am guessing the MK2 FFR comes in close to about 2400 pounds max. That is with a driver and as you drove it to the scales. John am I close or can you help with a more educated estimate? Until we hear different lets use the round numbers of 2400 LBS.... maybe a bit high?
The web is full of huge HP claims but a quick scan showed me engines with your goodies averaged from 350 to 450 HP. Found one guy claiming 535HP but had very worked heads and more goodies. I know it is all just chatter until you get the pulls on paper but ballpark numbers at least. If she weighs 2400 LBS and use 350 Hp minus 15% drive train loss then you get 297.5 rear wheel HP so 8.06 pounds per horse and @ 450 hp - 15% = 382.5 and 6.274 LBS per horse. 8 .06 or 6.27 pounds per horse is pretty respectable.
A Shelby GT500KR with advertised 540 Hp minus the same 15% = 459 HP and at 3900 pounds tips the HP per pound to 8.49 LBS per pound. The Shelby is supercharged and uses advertised HP but bet it is a real number. Just bench racing but the numbers are a hoot to compare. The old days you were lucky to get over 1 horse per cubic inch to the wheels and that is in a tank with a zillion pounds.

Street racing is illeagal, foolish and should never occur. It's fun too.
I'm all in for a day at Speedworld for a Cobra day. They have club test and tune days when they are lax on tech inspection.

Greg,
Can you arrainge a date in late March early April. exclude April10th, for a group day? I would not even mind being the slowest of the day. I'm a 60 second driver.

Fitz, Jeff's the only one that would cheat. That's why he got thrown off the track the last time we were there with him. Cheater, cheater, cheater!

I'm in for a couple passes at Speedworld. I couldn't quite get an 11 sec pass with the little-bitty 427, but I think the new 540 may do better...

My better judgement tells me not to comment on this thread. But better judgment be damned I cannot sit back and say nothing. To read that fellow car enthusiasts are racing on the street, bragging about it and others condoning it astounds me.
Street racing, whatever way it is done, is just plain wrong. If you want to contribute to the demise of our hobby, help regulate it out of existance, provide Insurance companies with more reasons to jack up our rates or not insure us at all, and turn the public against us. Just keep it up, your succeeding.
Street racing doesn't make you cool, mean you have a faster car, or impress the people that around you that are driving safely and within the law. God knows we have enough trouble with the police just trying to keep these cars on the streets.
If you want to see how your car compares to other performance cars then do it on a track. That's what tracks are for.
I am sure many will have responses to this stating many factors against my opinoin regarding this issue. So be it. Street racing is wrong .... period.
PS Brent if you wish to remove me from this website because of my position and statements here. I will respect your decision and wish you the very best. But I will not change my stand on this issue.

Concobra,
You have a right to your opinion and I expected it from a few readers just as yourself.
You enjoy your Cobra your way and I will enjoy my Cobra my way.
Dan
PS, hopefully no one will remove you for your opinion.
