Hell, I'd pay to see that and the next 20 minutes after she got up off of the floor!

I have not checked in for a while and missed all Danr' lip service about them little blue engines and the corvette rabble. So did Car Nut jump on the call out of his little blue motor ? Maybe he waiting for you to get that truck engine running again? When you and Car Nut are done I have a prickly Vette waiting for a call out toooo.

Fitz....that stuff is supposed to be for "medicinal use" only! Glad to see you didn't get your feelings hurt and stomp off the CC site after you did something less than swift to your sweetie, like that guy a couple years ago that crunched his wife's foot or something. Huffy huffy huffy. Fork 'em if they can't take a joke!

Actually I've had several Corvettes including big motors.

I have to admit, my little blue motor is kind of cute. You probably need to spot a couple seconds or so since its so puny. Seems fair, a little tiny 289 against a great big 427. Plus I have a little weenie auto tranmission, hardly a fair comparison with that 4 speed.

Then we have that weight issue, a super light weight fiberglass car vs a big heavy steel bodied car.

All added up, you really should spot me 5 or 6 seconds.

What say, sport?

Well, I'm kinda late to the party on this thread, but wanted to share.
... hopefully no penalty for necro-posting!

I do not have a cobra yet, but have wanted one since I read "The Cobra Story" in the mid-to-late 70's; even acquired the motor for it... 66 427 so out of a galaxy with the $ crank, cross-bolt mains, pent roof VCs, dual-quads (carbs not original), but had all the linkage, air cleaner, etc. Sadly, had to sell it to pay for a semester at school.

I am planning a Mk 111 289 Sports inspired build with a 302W/5spd and IRS... named "Alice" as the color will Princess Blue with tan interior and top.

Other toys are:
92 Mustang LX Sport (factory notch-back, 5.0 and 5spd) in Jewel Green/Gray, "Emma";
94 SHO ATX, 45k original miles in White/Mocha, "Bianca" (because she's beautiful, high maintenance, can be expensive and sometimes a pain in the a$$, but still so cool!)

As I said years ago, I've never been one to name inanimate objects. But I used to have a friend who named nearly everything from both his cars to his favorite golf club. I thought it was a bit silly. One day he asked the name of my wife's dog. Douglas, I answered. Later in the conversation he asked me what I called my car. Douglas, I answered. What about your wife's car, he asked? Douglas, I said. He was plainly set back. "We call all of our things Douglas. It makes it easier to remember their names," I said. . . . He never again asked me about the names of my things.

Tommy, I understand your position... very clear.

For me, cars have a soul... and a personality, so I give my cars names.
The only other names I give are to my children... oh, and to select idiot drivers that still manage to remain in the gene pool.

I'm yet to drive my Cobra (engine might possibly be going in this week ) so the character and name are still to evolve ....but he will definitely have a name.

Cheers!
Glen

May I suggest Douglas? I seldom use it since the dog died.

So who's "FAST289 Dave"?

....and Patrick, who's Elmo??
I'd consider "Ken" or "Dan" or "Allen" or maybe "Bob" before Elmo

Cheers!

Mine is “Ole Green Plastic Ford”. Guess that’s more a description than a name, but most people are kinda surprised when they finally see it.

On my phone that looked like "Misty" and I thought to myself, what a great name for a Cobra... and I was even driving mine at the time.

Default Worse names EVER for Alfas

You know I always thought I would be one of the guys that would & should name my cars. After hanging with "Little Jack" my buddy with his Lancia Fulvia Zagato. He told me cars all had souls, especially Italian cars. But the closest I came was my wife named the Alfa GTV race car "My Mistress" with just cause and a buddy named the Green 427 Street Cobra "Metallica" because "All Hell would break lose when started". I think another buddy kinda ruined it for me, years ago, he had over the course of years 3-Alfa GTV race cars, my yellow one being the last. He named all of them, God knows why he named these beautiful cars these AWFUL NAMES but, here goes, the Blue one was "Blue Bell" the red one was "Red Ryder" and last but not least was my yellow one "MISS DAISY" Over all these years it has left a sour taste in my mouth. Cheers Boys.
