I've got to agree with MSD. Coil went bad and it took WEEKS to figure it out.

The cure for the Fuel Safe woes is Aero Tech in Ca.
A new Fia certed bladder with foam was $800ish

I've replaced my oil pressure sending unit 3 times. Fuel pump once. No other issues in 7 years. Only 13,000 miles though.

Things that break on my Cobra? The back tires break (loose) when I gas it. Does that count?

Thumbs up pleasure

A cobra is something like a boat without water. Cobra's make a hole in the air, and suck vast amounts of money behind it. But, money well spent.

I have learned you can't have a budget and own a Cobra. That sucking noise I thought was the carb is the sound of money being sucked into it. But, oh so much FUN!

So far my FE is pretty tight - just a little gleam of oil on the block plate from the rear seal that never quite is able to form a drip. But my Toploader leaks from a couple places. I kind of figure these things are inevitable.

To sum up this thread:
1] Sounds like most all of us have had something just fall off due to vibration: I do a nut and bolt check every 6 months whether I need it or not and if taking club trip I do it before trip.
2] Hard to put item as number 1,2,3 as there are so many things that go wrong. If you track it there seems to be track related issues but if you just weekend drive you can be talking and you look over at the car with cup of coffee in your hand and something just falls off......English parts.
3] Cockpit is hot and not a whole lot you can do about it. ......put a hard top on it and take the windows out. that helps in the warm temps. Arizona SUN is freaking brutal.
4] lastly there are all those noises... "Honey, did you hear that?" "It sounded like something just fell off or broke?" "Shut up and drive." "We are late for our hearing impaired doctor's appointment and then we have to get more burn cream for our legs burns"!! "I may sue your ass for this you SOB!"

Just a comment on Fitz's item 1. I have noticed on most replicas the complete lack of "positive" locking devices. Split lock washers are not really locking devices (they relax with time and then are no better than a flat washer). I have replaced all the nuts that I can with "elastic stop nuts" or Loctite. Also where possible the fasteners are replaced with AN or MS standard ones. All parts that are subject to rotation must us positive stop nuts (see AC43-13).
