Down Under hospitality can't be beat! A few years ago my wife and I went on a cruise around Australia. I went on the Aussie part of this forum and asked if I could meet-up with an owner for a beer and a drive in a right-hand drive cobra. Barry ("Baz") from the forum responded and he met us at the end of our trip; he and his family spent two whole days showing us places around Sydney that tourists rarely see. Great time! And I did get the ride.

Cheers, Dale

Karl- apologies. Must have quickly looked at bob Broberg post or something stupid like that. Yeah I forgot Keith's was a 289 Fia.all good.

Dale- I'm sorry you had to go to Aussie. It's a terrible place , full of Australians you know. Good old bazza mate...lets see if we can out do those Aussies when Karl turns up.

I've had some pretty good experiences in the states over the last 15 yrs , you guys do a pretty good job of accomodating people also.
Cheers guys

Gidday team
Hope all is well.
Been a while since I looked on the site.
Just wanted to say hi to rob,Keith, Dan and Karl and to see if Karl made it down our way in the end.. I never heard from you so assume you didn’t, but if you did I hope you had a good time.
I’ve been very slack with driving last couple years but still have the car so not a lot to report, but still want offer the chance to meet up down here to anyone who decides to make the journey.
Anyway, thiats all and thanks again.
Keep the rubber down, and spinning.
Cheers
Olly

Great to hear from you Olly. You're not the only one who has had no slack time...

But as a very wise man once told me: "Time will never be given, it can only be taken..."

I've been giving more than I take over the past 2 years. It's time to reverse that trend.

Hi Olly, Two years ago, Mrs. Sweetness and I did get "downunder" for about 3 weeks. We were in Austrailia and most of that was enjoyable. One day in the Alice Springs area would have been plenty, for me, since we see enough desert where we live. We really enjoyed NZ quite a bit more. The scenery on the south island was pretty much incredible. Somehow our time got away from us and we never managed to hook up with youse guys. Be sure to give us a shout the next time you get across the pond. K.

Karl,

Was the NZ south island shaking while you over there?

I was in Christchurch in 2011 when the big one hit.
