If you use the ECU straight from the car without touching it you you need all the computers(BEM, ABS, air bag, air con etc). The auto ecu is located in the valve body of the gearbox.The car will not start with any of these removed. Talk to BPT Motorsport located in Perth( http://www.norcom.net.au/~bpt/index.htm), they should be able to help you. People in Qld send their ECU's to them to have them customised.
Make sure that you don't lose any oil from the ZF gearbox when you remove it. This oil is very expensive and there is a procedure to check the oil level if topped up which involes the oil at a certain temp. If it does need oil use only the Ford supplied oil or the Motospec equiv, nothing else.
It also would be a good to keep the VIN number of the Falcon. The motor and gearbox ECU's will still be idenified by this number.
