There's probably cheaper and easier ways to remove weight. Probably easier to just add HP.
My CR weighed in at 1060KG at rego with a half tank of fuel. Not sure on the front rear split. I got it through rego with no windscreen so probably saved a few KG there with out all the stuff that goes with it i.e wipers, heater etc.
It's got a windscreen and wipers now but I've removed a heap of weight from the rear by making tubular rear arms. It'll be interesting to see what it weighs again when it's all done.
