From memory I think with road tyres and idle off the line was about 12.3 or 4
I know I should remember but I can't.
Last race was 1/8 at night (same this weekend) ran 7.99 at 90mph

I am concerned I will pop a diff centre.

I know the Hoosiers are good speedway tyres, the likes of which I could never afford LOL, But how do they go draggin'? Do they make several different sidewall types?
When I get out of this airport to more stable internet I must check that out.

Cheers

Looks good David.

Want to borrow my Dragon Snake pipes to complete the picture? They use the same flanges as the pipes I built for you so should bolt straght up.

Cheers

Hi Boxy
What safety gear do you they make you have? Does CADRA run the ANDRA meetings? I went down for one of the off street meetings and got told to come back again I need 6 point cage, arm restraints, fire suit as its an open fiberglass body.

Closed shoes, long pants, long shirt, helmet.
Car is checked at Scrutineering and that's it.
If I run 10.5 from memory, then I would require a cage & suit.

I need to find my suit one day.
I think wrist restraints are also required then aswell.

I don't think the pipes would arrive in time Mike.

I also still have a bit of work on the car before racing. So may struggle to have pipes fitted in time.

Ok, what happened.

Well Friday night was spent pulling front shocks out so I could remove helper springs and get the whole lot lower.
Job was done and I adjusted the R/H side of the car about 3/4 inch higher than left.

Of course I also have a leaking AVO, so who again is the agent I need to send too?

All completed before bed time.

Loaded him onto the trailer to tack racing Saturday arvo.

Then onto the race track,
Well ............................... It was farkin scary.
I did a burn out (probably not a big enough one), the car launched pretty well with not a huge amount of tyre spin, tracked straight, but when I backed out of it to change gear, the car turned right, then into second and accelerated, the car turned left.
I then backed out again only to point right again, pedaled all the rest of 1/8.
Still managed a 8.88 time and only into second gear.

I suspect my failed LSD centre had something to do with this, so will try these tyres again after LS centre is repaired.

Put the 17's back on and ran a pretty consistant 8.009 @ 90mph

Time to revisit this.
I now have tyres on there way from Roger Kraus motorsport, being shipped to Anaheim and loaded into the container with all the little stadium trucks (The Trophy Kart 450rs)
$1260 includes purchase and delivery to Anaheim, shipping into Aus looks like it will be free, as the guy selling the Karts is happy to load 1 each into a kart (17 Karts in a container)
So the containers leaves last week of January, hope to see the tyres and Kart approx mid Feb at a guess?
Then it will be time to see if they fit (if not there will be some Billboards for sale)

Time for an update.
Whilst away at Shelbyfeat, I got a call from the SC540 owner saying he has a buyer at Mt Gambier so he was wondering when I am back to put the car together so there is less pieces.
So after getting home, I did very little the next day, this may explain why.

Then Job 1 was to unpack everything, including a small motorbike hoist I bought from Pinnacle wholesales in Ballarat.
This will be used on the father inlaws bike and for my little race car.
Here it is being tested.

Job 2 was to give the Cobra a bath, on the return run home, it rained late on day one around the Clare Valley, and I don't think it had rained for a long time, as there was a lot of road grime, poor Mr Cobra.

After unloading and a wash.

Then last job for the day was the 540, my brother inlaw gave me a hand so it all went together easier than I imagined (considering I did not pull it apart in the first place)
In 2 hours we went from this.

To this.

Now just waiting on some wheels and boxes to put air con etc in.

Ready to be freighted.

Also tried them on George.

Love how the huge factory brakes fill the rims.

Then to make things right, I tried some old school rims.

Nothing better that playing with wheels to see how they look.

Did that with Grover, tried to lover it some more but the chassis hit the ground.

6000Ks wow that's an effort.
