Dave, gotta luv the 3D printing - my brain is whirring with ideas for parts :-)

FYI: Shaun does great work, and very responsive. Used him for my Header Tank and Radiator tubes.

Cheers

Gregg

Dave, your car is sensational. The workmanship is second to none and an inspiration to all who aspire to such levels. If you were paid $1 an hour for you time, the cost would still exceed $1mil

Congrats to your son and his achievements but hey, not hard to see where it comes from.

Keep practising Dave and you will eventually get it perfect.

Gav 05-01-2014 03:37 PM

Top work Dave!

Your attention to detail never ceases to amaze, keep the updates coming.

Chris L 05-01-2014 10:17 PM

No words Dave..............she is beautiful.
Keep the detail coming.

leroy17 05-01-2014 11:04 PM

You know, I may be on my own here however if you were to do a photo shoot of say 20 images of randomly selected points of your build (no description needed to save you time), and post them here, I for one would appreciate that and I am sure that it would be a visual feast.

Just sayin'.

DaveW 05-01-2014 11:15 PM

I can do that, anything specific you want to see?
I'm in PNG at the moment, but will back home next Friday.

Do you want close ups of bits and pieces or general round the chassis shots?

mando s 05-02-2014 04:24 AM

Wow, I reckon that's as good as it gets. Dave I'd love to see more pics of anything you like.

Regards.

WOW KRC power steering pump... Where u gunna put the resevoir? I had one off the Supercar engine but just decided on the factory one with an alloy factory location resevoir.

stiffy 05-02-2014 11:06 PM

Power steering

Towy,

I have gone through 3 power steering pumps (very limited track work).

I fixed it with the following,

1. BA Ford turbo pump (NKR brand I think ) with the LS series pulley, from a bloke in Coburg.
2. Power steering cooler.
3. 25% reduction crank pulley.
4. High temp power steering fluid.

Been fixed for years since....

Stiffy

Mando,
What's happening with your machine, there's a lot who'd like to see some more pics of your masterpiece as well, like me......

Belts too short with the larger PS pump pulley.

Towy,
I will probably mount a remote res, but there is a bolt on res available from KRC.

leroy17 05-03-2014 03:24 AM

Fantastic attention to detail. The finish on the chassis.... Actually the finish on everything is stunning.

Quality like this never gets old.

Oh yeah, c'mon Mando, time for more pics since you change all the blue/red fitting and other things.

I'll see how it goes, I can always use the KRC one I have from the Supercar. They have a bracket for the LS engine that I can use.

Gav 05-04-2014 02:02 AM

I have the standard LS pump on mine but needed a cooler and high temp fluid.
I run a reduction crank pulley but it would work better with a standard unit as it is a bit down on pressure when idling around.
I fitted a finned alloy remote power steer reservoir with an integral filter too.

mando s 05-04-2014 07:29 AM

I'll post some pictures and maybe a video in the near future. I took the car to the tuner this week who made some adjustments to the computer before running it on the dyno then found that one of the injectors was blocked resulting in one of plugs getting destroyed. I'm in the process of removing all the injectors so I can get them all tested.
Once everything is back together it's back to the tuner for the last session on the dyno.
At the moment I'm really happy with how the car runs and sounds.

Regards.

Hi Gav, I plan on replacing the ugly plastic reservoir from Holden. Do you have a link or any photos of the one you used?

DaveW 11-14-2014 01:01 AM

Started my headers on the weekend,

Played around with the tube modelling kit till it all fitted.
http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...psfaadcab4.jpg

bought some bends with 2", 3" and 4" Centre line radius to match the model.

The pipe models can separate at each change in plane, which you just sit on the pipe, mark it up, then cut.

Tacked in place

Next job is too pull the pipe assemblies out, TIG weld around, clean up the welds and refit for tacking to the flanges.
