Hi. from new Cobra Kits. owner
Hi everyone, I thought I would introduce myself to you all, My name is Andrew Maybury and I am the new owner of Cobra Kits. I'm also the owner of Fabrication 81, an automotive fabrication Workshop that has been in business for five years. Our main business is racecar and tough streetcar Fabrication, rollcages, suspension, tinwork and so on, check out my website Home | Fabrication 81
I have been building the chassis for Warwick for the last 18 months and have a passion for building cobra's to a high-quality standard, an affordable price and will continue to provide the same service Warwick has been providing for years.
Moving forward we're working on few updates on the chassis based around the strength, reliability and ease to build of the Harrison.
The front suspension is now MacPherson strut with all new adjustable lower control arms, castor arms, Custom-made racing Logic hyper Street coilovers 32 step dampening and height adjustable. The rears still skyline but will also have the same coilovers. All this with little change in price.
The first Chassis has already been sold and will be on show at the auto spectacular up at Willowbank Raceway in April. Price and picture updates will be uploaded soon.

Hi Andrew, congratulations on your additional business venture. Sounds like you are passionate for all things performance orientated.
I do have a question though regarding the MacPherson strut front end, it is somehting you must se in your other fabrication shop. You say the lower arm is fully adjustable, but what are the advantages of the strut over the double wisbone? Space? wheel fitment? cost? Is it better than a fully adjustable double wishbone? We all know these cars aren't exact replica's, though this now takes it one step further away. It may be met with resistance from some.

Hi David thanks for your comments. In regards to the MacPherson strut verse double wishbone it's hard to say one is better than the other.
The advantageous are based on two main points cost and driving performance.
All parts up off-the-shelf items no custom-made.
yes the lower control arm is adjustable along with the castor arm and the coilovers purely for an added driving performance and ease of set up for long-distance driving comfort and for the racing enthusiasts.
I know it steps away from tradition a little bit but when the body is on, apart from taking off the wheel you wouldn't know it has strut front end.

Hi Andrew,
Sounds like you're keen to continue improving an already good car - never a bad thing!
I'm building a Harrison at the moment, only picked it up in December last year. I guess you would have been the one who made my chassis
Warwick never mentioned anything in passing about selling cobra kits, though I did hear rumours. I assume he will still be playing a part in running the company, and current customers and builders will still have him as a point of contact for advice when needed? Or are you taking over in full?

Hi again, the deal was done over Christmas. Warick will continue to be involved for the next little while as I take over. All cobra kits previous and new customers can contact Warick or myself for any questions. We both believe Cobra Kits has that responsibility to the people out there that are building their cars.
The stretched options are still offered ( they seam to be the only ones we have been building of late )
Please call if anyone is interested in the Daytona.
At the moment we are focused on producing a high quality cobra.

Congrats Andrew. I'm sure you will do well. Be great if u can align yourself with the cobra events. Warwick certainly is/was always involved and generous in his knowledge.
I'm going to need a cage fabricated for another car soon ish (non cobra) so ill certainly drop in and see what u think. Will need cams certification etc but sounds like u have all that sorted.

Thanks spookypt, the plan is to differently attend as many events as I can.
