Congrats...
There are men tipping their hats to your sir.
Ps: Love the garage too.
Are they Polaroid photos of the build that run across the wall? Epic idea.
I'd shamelessly steal it if I had any descent photos. lol.

Thanks Dimis
I had a show and tell here a while ago and I put the photos on the wall in a small plastic channel so I can add, move or remove but I haven't added to them for some time....the wall isn't long enough. No copyrights on the idea.

Looking good mate not long to go and you'll be zipping through the hills with the wind in your hair enjoying the sympathy of a screaming V8 through your side pipes.
I like your slide show idea I think I'll steal that for my garage too.
Congrats mate building it is fun but ringing its neck is more fun lol.

Looks great! I like how it puffed a little bit a moment before it shut down just to prove to everyone that the side pipes are live!
There are some very cool cars that are at or near rego stage now. Great to see!

Fantastic job Kent. Car and photo wall. Great sound. I wonder if I can get my 6.0L LS2 sounding like that?

Thanks guye
Sure you can, there is nothing better than finally hearing your own engine roar into life, I would have been happy if it ran on 4cyl.
We were almost at the point of giving up, going back to square one starting over, so many compounding faults it was hard to identify them.
Finally after many, many cutting, splicing, adding wires it backfired, a quick tweak of the dizzy and the rest is history
Cheers

Day Trip
Hi all
Took the Cobra to get all four wheels pointing in the same direction on Friday, I got the pick of the day Thursday pouring rain, This morning the same. Friday morning beautiful and sunny, so I backed the Cobra out for it first taste of sunshine in two and a half years
[IMG] [/IMG]
spent some time cleaning, cleaning, cleaning amazing mow much crap builds up, and I though my garage was fairly well sealed up
Tow truck showed up and we loaded up.
[IMG] [/IMG]
Took it down to Adelaide Sports Tyres, they have a
four head laser thingymawhatsit for their wheel alignment sounded impressive so I went there.
[IMG] [/IMG]
Adam spent a bit over an hour on the car and got everything spot on. To start with I had 28mm toe in on the left front and 15mm toe in on the right front, no wonder it use to protest when I pushed it around in the garage
We had to raise the ride height by a full 25mm to clear the dreaded concrete block at the end of the inspection pits at Regency Park
I though it would look ridiculous but it's not to bad.
Not great comparison photos but its all I got
Before:
[IMG] [/IMG]
After:
[IMG] [/IMG]
Not everything went to plan, as I backed off the truck at home I picked up a horrible squeal, not sure where it is coming from, I am guessing clutch
So one step forward and two back.
Cheers

Thanks Denano
Tonkins are taking care of the engineering,
Craig will probably recommend them to you when the time comes , that is how I got on to them
They seem thorough, Graeme is pretty cool and fairly relaxed he has done two inspections and never had any issue with anything that I have done so far. Hopefully that continues
Cheers

Rory helped me get my Dax 427 through its Regency Inspection and lent me his trade plates so that I could get to Exhaust Technology, to have the side-pipes modified, and to Regency which saved me the hassle and cost of several day registrations. So he has my thanks and recommendation!
Hurry up Kent and join us on the road!
Cheers, Mike

Doing the best I can!!
Had the car at exhaust Technology on Friday for the under car exhaust.
Ran Into a problem the fuel tank.........there is no way around it and under was no option, so had to bring her home again.
As I see it now I have the options of.
Cutting the fuel tank (I would loose 25 litres of cap.) And running the exhaust out the back as planned. Pain in the backside and the wallet.
Crossing the left pipe over to the RH side and exit both pipes in front of the rear tyre, however " side exhaust must exit beyond the last opening to the passenger compartment"
Argue for live side pipes " no exhaust shall exit the left hand side" but as someone pointed out to me there are some precedence on new cars out there
with exhausts on both sides
I will have to discuss this with my engineer come Monday
There are some other stuff I am working through as well.
Cheers

Is this just a SA thing with the side pipes? Seems a bit strange that you can have a pipe exit on the right but not the left. What about NSW?

It's an ADR and not a local rule. It's not specifically to do with side pipes but more so addressing the issue of all types of vehicles gassing out pedestrians/shoppers on the side walk etc. The rule also sets an angle toward the ground that the outlet must meet.
An engineer here in the ACT got one through with pipes exiting both sides on the grounds there was physically no room to take them further back.
original DRB's from QLD and Snake Pit Sydney had both pipes exiting together on the right and a fake on the left to meet this requirement.

side exiting exhausts
Are there any Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG vehicles registered in SA? Those cars have side exiting exhausts. 2x pipes in front of each rear wheel.

The ADR for passenger vehicles and the restriction of the pipe exiting to the left, has been removed for years.
