Thanks guys for the compliments.

Beejay, blue goes very well with lots of chrome, it's a cooler colour. Plenty of chrome on a Cobra. Not really much chrome on a GT40, well not usually.

I actually wanted to paint it a different colour, but just couldn't find something I really liked, so went back to old blue again.

Blue is Subaru WR Blue Perl. To be honest there are about half a dozen blues that are very similiar - Mazda winning blue, Ford Shockwave, Holden Impulse Blue and even Viper blue are so close it's hard to tell them apart.

Interesting how they get the really deep(aggressive) perl effect in factory paints these days. The paint does not cover well, doesn't have much body, you need to apply a heap of layers of base colour to get coverage. It's all those layers that give the colour depth.

I thought about a candy, like House of Kolor. But just not practical for a street car, plus I'm pleased I didn't have to shell out the extra cash for paint. Heard there are some very nice candys etc from Debeer, but without the big price tag.

I went with semi-smooth stripes. Most cost effective way of getting smooth stripes, they are not perfectly smooth, but just a nice very slight bump. The stripe edges are rubbed back before clear is applied.

If anyone wants inspiration for paint colours, check out current Suzuki Swift colours. Some very impressive colours in that range. If I hadn't already committed to this blue, I would have seriously considered one of them.
