anaconda manual
my first kit was a rmc and was a great street car smooth ride excellent road manners . i got the anaconda manual and found it next useless i would not even use the door locks they recommend . If it looks right and works right then it is right. for example not all windscreens are the same shape so the angle at which it sits is different for every car so i move it backwards and forwards till it fits just right.
If you are not sure just ask some one who has built a rmc.
They have a lot of little quirks that is the fun of building a cobra. i am up to my 4 th cobra now this one is for the street not a track animal you know what i mean.

When I asked M.Moylan about a build manual he told me that If I need a book to tell me how to build the car . I shouldn't be building it. I have done so many mods now I should write a build manual myself !
P.S. mine weighed 1200 kg with the old Cleveland in it.

Cant say Ive weighed a lot of bonnets personally, although it probably only makes up 1% of the total weight of the car - drawing a long bow to then assume the whole car must then be heavy. Must be all the space age material (like "radiata pine") in the CR that makes it end up weighing less then an RMC.

The blown CR, is that David Sampson's car?
If so, his is one of the older original ones, I think it uses the early commodore IRS in the back.

1060KG for the rat rod racer CR when I registered it. Should be lighter now with the tubular rear end and side pipes fitted.
Cheers

You would reckon that an auto would be heavier, but then why was it quicker?

Go The Windsors
Its Our Mackay Rod And Custom Club Xmas Party Tomorrow, And We Have Hired The Palmyra Drag Strip For The Day, Which We Usually Do Each Year. Drag Racing All Day Then Party And Camp The Night. Theres A Lot Of Tough Cars In The Club Of All Persausions And The Usual Ford Vs Chevy Holden Banter All Year With The Chevy Guys Usually The Most Vocal About How Fast Their Cars Are,[ Ford S**t Etc ] But Theres The Old Saying When The Racing Starts The Bull**** Stops And Run Wot You Brung, If Last Years Any Indication, When The Tough Windsors Turned Up And Started Racing, Most Of The Chevy / Holdens Mysteriously Got Parked Up Finished For The Day With Various Excuses. At The End Of The Day It Was The Tough Fords Still Racing. Personally I Like Nothing More Than Smoking Hsvs. So Another Big Day Of Racing Saturday And We Will See What It Brings. Ill Bet Its Hook Line Windsor

Peace and love
Yes Bert has been getting all of my attention at the moment, trying to get him on the road soon.
The cobra tends to get me in a bit of trouble these days so I am quite happy to leave it tucked away in the shed. I though about selling it but I realised that i would not go thru with it. However an over the top offer would not be refused
Yes Andrew my cobra will be heavier than yours, because I didn't attack mine with the grinder
Ben, we should hit the drag strip now you are legal.
Phil

Tomcat,
How much would a 400 kW Windsor be worth to put together?
A stock 6L Ls Chev with a cam seems to be common in the Cobras these days, makes 300 kW + at the wheels.
Why is it that half the Ford hot rods have Chevs fitted?
Ben
