Hi Paul,

From the look of your chassis the "Direct shift" will come out almost in line with the steering wheel. Not sure what you mean with the gaffer tape but my shifter comes out on the forward inspection cover. You can see the cover on your box just under the first cross member back from the front edge of the tunnel sheet metal.

Here's a pic of one of my boxes so you get the idea.

Cheers

Hey Mike,

Can you post a full shot of your seats. I am looking for something different to put in my Coupe?

Thanks,

Clois

Hi Clois,

This is about the only pic I have showing the seats.

I wanted race seats for track days and these also had Australian Disign Rules compliance tags that we need for rego down here. They are made/imported by AutotecnicA http://www.autotecnica.com.au/seats.html

The model is A999 andI think I paid about AU $350 each for them.

Cheers

Actually you're right Mike. In my mind you were using the location at the rear of the box. I guess I could relocate that crossmember and get the box modified... will give it some more thought.

Cheers

Talking It's only money!!

Go on Paul you know you want to pour more money into the beast - do it!!

Seriously though the possible location of your shifter opposite the steering wheel looks pretty good.

I'm waiting to see where mine ends up now, but I'll simply jigsaw another hole through the top of the steel tunnel to suit my shift location and touch up the edges with Por15.

Perhaps then I can too get Mike to machine me up a pair of gear levers, one for the car one for the top drawer??

Paul,
The crossbar I was talking about was the one above the inspection plate. This was the bar I saw completley removed(although relocation would have been a better idea) to allow the T56 with the front gear selector to be used.

Thanks Warren. I'm going to keep it simple and reverse the factory linkage rather than chopping the chassis and sending the box off for surgery. I can always revisit later. Pics will follow!
