was thinking that could be the case I was hoping to keep the ECU involved but may not be able to without BCM. I could always do without warning light until I think up another devious way of making it work.

Wired up wrong?? I guess I am just used to altenators that are 4ft round and weigh in at 7 tonnes, these little fellas can be tricky.
