Thanks for all the advice fellas.

Ross... Like you, my problem only evolved after the door trims were constructed and fitted. The trimmer used a Pinchweld with the bubble on the side. This prevented the doors from closing correctly. He did the same thing with the boot and just forgot altogether about the channel around the engine bay where the bonnet closes.

You have suggested exactly what I have done this morning. I attended my local Clark Rubber store and purchased 3 metres of standard Pinchweld, the profile was just the 'U' shape with no bubble on the side. Unfortunately, I could have any colour I liked as long as it was black. A Guy from Uticolor is colouring the Pinchweld and my inner door handles in brown to match the edging on my carpet.

I also purchased 3 metres of Supersoft self adhesive rubber which I am installing around the leading, trailing and under-side edges of the doors so it won't be visible unless you get down on your hands and knees and look up under the door. When the doors are closed the Supersoft will be hard up against the Pinchweld, preventing any water from entering the cockpit, yet allowing the doors to close correctly.
