Jay, what wheels is he running to use the billboards?

BTW Gary, this statement "You cannot own AND drive something like that 800 hp Cobra in Australia. Period." We see as just another reason not to live in Oz. I can't believe all the crap you guys have to go through for your gov.

Those are the original 15s Backdraft supplied on cars about 4 years ago (factory closed). The Billboards required a bunch of work to fit and turn etc.

Are they pin drive knock-off wheels or lugs? And how bullet-proof are the rear axles, rear end and drive train? Torque like that can do evil things to those parts, especially with sticky tires.

But then, you already know that. Just curious...

They are the standard BDR style knockoffs (in the rear they are directly bolted to the half shafts). The suspension is all solid mounted or rollerized (no rubber or poly here), half shafts are by the Drive Shaft Shop and the diff is custom built by Diffsonline. So it should all be good for atleast a couple rips

Good luck to those who think they can.
YOU can not, and why not specifically in Australia? I daily drove a 700rwhp car with zero issues for 3 years here in the US, including in the snow.

So for those of us that can and do, thanks for wishing us....luck. Really, it is not needed. A little bit of common sense is all that is necessary.

I bet Jays 800rwhp backdraft has better street manners than most 400hp Cobras do. Does that chap your ass or what?

What are the details of the engine or is there another thread that covers it?

It's a Ford Racing Aluminator NA Crate Engine with a VMP Stage 3 Gen2 supercharger kit running a little over 16psi boost. Using E85 to run it for the enhanced cooling effect. Tuning was done in house with Lund Racing making remote adjustments.

Yup, I know! It would be a project for sure. Pretty much like putting a Cammer in, but it has been done before.

Not wanting to hijack this thread, so I will find you later.

This thread is about an 800hp Monster that will, IMHO twist alot of metal and beat hard parts to death. Just looks like lots of maintenance to me.

That's what the customer wanted, so that's what he got.

On the contrary. If you carefully parse it the combination of driving and owning is excluded. The combination of not owning and not driving makes no sense, but what about owning and not driving and driving and not owning?

Sounds great! I think he'll find he is going to need drag radials on the back. Cheers.

I would likely ignore the hater comments. Everyone has a right to build what they want. At the London show I had an SPF parked next to me with a 525 CI pushing 750 HP and a few cars back a FF that was a twin turbo putting out nearly 1,000 HP. Build what you want and drive it safely!

Every country has it's own laws for vehicle modification. Then there is the inspecting officers interpretation of said laws.
I've seen many cars get registered and wonder how. It's then only a matter of time before a police officer shows interest.
In Australia at least, there is modification limits. I'd like to have a WRX with 900hp, or a 2010 Camaro with roughly the same.
What I'd like and what is allowed are completely different, and I abide by that.
I value my own life, the lives of my fellow passengers, and all other road users.

End of debate for me.

Back to topic.

Oy vey. I'm not sure what the point is here, but it sounds like the holier than thou "double roll bar" or the "I live my life perfectly safe and can do no wrong" argument I so much enjoy and love.

Please spare us, because I'm sure you always make sure your brakes, tires and other safety equipment on all your cars need nothing, you and your family drive the safest vehicles available on the road today with latest safety equipment, you don't drink alcohol or sugary drinks or smoke or run yellow and/or red lights, floss and brush your teeth, make sure everyone in your family sees the dentist and doctor on a regular basis, exercise daily, eat a low fat low carb diet, etc.

I could on and on about how we all take chances daily with our lives as well as the lives of others, except me of course. So please don't preach.

He lives in Brisbane so he is more likely to be injured from one of their wild creepy crawlies than anything else.
