Jay, what wheels is he running to use the billboards?

BTW Gary, this statement "You cannot own AND drive something like that 800 hp Cobra in Australia. Period." We see as just another reason not to live in Oz. I can't believe all the crap you guys have to go through for your gov.

Those are the original 15s Backdraft supplied on cars about 4 years ago (factory closed). The Billboards required a bunch of work to fit and turn etc.

Are they pin drive knock-off wheels or lugs? And how bullet-proof are the rear axles, rear end and drive train? Torque like that can do evil things to those parts, especially with sticky tires.

But then, you already know that. Just curious...

They are the standard BDR style knockoffs (in the rear they are directly bolted to the half shafts). The suspension is all solid mounted or rollerized (no rubber or poly here), half shafts are by the Drive Shaft Shop and the diff is custom built by Diffsonline. So it should all be good for atleast a couple rips

On the contrary. If you carefully parse it the combination of driving and owning is excluded. The combination of not owning and not driving makes no sense, but what about owning and not driving and driving and not owning?

Yup, I know! It would be a project for sure. Pretty much like putting a Cammer in, but it has been done before.

I would likely ignore the hater comments. Everyone has a right to build what they want. At the London show I had an SPF parked next to me with a 525 CI pushing 750 HP and a few cars back a FF that was a twin turbo putting out nearly 1,000 HP. Build what you want and drive it safely!

A lot people that supposedly know a lot more then me told me I wouldn't get my Kirkham registered with a Cammer down here in OZ.

Proved them wrong this week, guess I knew more then they thought. LOL

Every country has it's own laws for vehicle modification. Then there is the inspecting officers interpretation of said laws.
I've seen many cars get registered and wonder how. It's then only a matter of time before a police officer shows interest.
In Australia at least, there is modification limits. I'd like to have a WRX with 900hp, or a 2010 Camaro with roughly the same.
What I'd like and what is allowed are completely different, and I abide by that.
I value my own life, the lives of my fellow passengers, and all other road users.

End of debate for me.

Back to topic.

Oy vey. I'm not sure what the point is here, but it sounds like the holier than thou "double roll bar" or the "I live my life perfectly safe and can do no wrong" argument I so much enjoy and love.

Please spare us, because I'm sure you always make sure your brakes, tires and other safety equipment on all your cars need nothing, you and your family drive the safest vehicles available on the road today with latest safety equipment, you don't drink alcohol or sugary drinks or smoke or run yellow and/or red lights, floss and brush your teeth, make sure everyone in your family sees the dentist and doctor on a regular basis, exercise daily, eat a low fat low carb diet, etc.

I could on and on about how we all take chances daily with our lives as well as the lives of others, except me of course. So please don't preach.

He lives in Brisbane so he is more likely to be injured from one of their wild creepy crawlies than anything else.

Well that ^ sounds just like me!
I mean, except for the part about running yellow/red lights, I only do that on my bicycle.
Oh yeah, and I reckon that low fat, low carb malaki is a fallacy...

What were we talking about again...?

Oh yes! That koenigsegg looks like something out of TRON!
I wonder how it go against a 800hp BDR down the 1/4?

Little disappointed the power to weight ratio came up short of this:

Warm up those Billboards, get out a couple of GoPro's and put it through some paces! Safely, and on a closed course!

The title with the smiley face says it all for me. I'm always happy to see people having a great time on projects like this.

Great post Cashburn. Excellent stuff.

What has the world come to when people start pissing and moaning about too much horsepower on a Cobra forum? THIS IS A COBRA FORUM. IT IS ABOUT CARS WITH TOO MUCH HORSEPOWER THAT STINK AND ARE A PAIN IN THE BUTTOCKS. Has the world gone completely insane? Has the E85 fuel gotten to everyones heads?

Next someone will be chiding us about the air pollution the car is putting out and 'what about the children'. I'm going over to Gasholes where men can act like men.

[edit - 10 minutes later] Sorry to flake on your nice thread Cashburn. But I was filling my car with E85 fuel just now and I don't know what came over me.

+1 Thanks for bringing me back to reality.

For a minute I thought I stumbled onto the Prius board.

There's a good article in the latest Hot Rod magazine about the 572ci big block Ford that just won the Amsoil Engine Challenge. Around 850hp. A 385 series. Perfect for your next project Cashburn!
