Brake squeal

Sledge,
Take a very rough sandpaper, 60 grit or better, and rough up the backing side (the side that goes up against the caliper). Then apply your choice of Anti-Squeal compound, put the brake assembly back together and you should not have squeaky brakes. This is from the www.bimmerworld.com web site. My brakes don't squeal, but if they do I will try this.

Bonitacobra is right. My squeel was exactly as described above. I took the pads out, sanded the back and scratched the back with a file also. Then I applied a thin film of silicone sealer to the back of the pad, let it set, put them back together again, and presto..... No more squeel.

I gave it a whirl this morning, per Larry's and tfarhood's recommendations, and so far so good!
