The casing is rated for a higher pressure, I think 400 psig as opposed to 200 psig for the fl1a. The key is when the bypass opens. On a true racing engine the oil flowrate is higher therefore the pressure drop across the filter would be higher but they dont want the oil bypassing the filter all the time sooooo they put a stiffer bypass valve in. That being said we feel good putting a fl1hp on but would be perfeclty fine with an fl1a on our "racing" engines.
