Cobra Make, Engine: Classic 427, I purchased it May 2005, the kit was bought in 1991. I'm not sure when it was completed! Installed GMPP Connect & Cruise 376/525 with T-56 S/M 3.55 gears about 2 years ago! 1/4 miles is with old setup!

Default Anyone with LS in CR-II

I'm still looking for a better bracket and pulley setup for my LS-3 1991 CR-II. Any ideas or help?

What set up are you using Lightingrod? A local tuner that specializes in LS talked me into using the 2000 f-body set up. I was going to try one of the custom rigs but he said there was no need for the expense. It is the only one I have experience with though.

I have a ICT Billet set-up in my Arntz. They had one of the few bracket set-ups that allowed me to locate the alternator to the lower left of the engine so it would not hit the hood.

I think I have a whopping $250 in the whole bracket set-up? That was a few brackets, belt, and adjustable idler. I cleaned them p a little and did some polishing, but nothing major.

Any photos? I'll go take a look at the 2000 f-body setup!

Brackets - LS
I think ICT is one of the setups I tried, the steering shaft and rack & pinion interfered if I remember right! I'm for sure going to a manual tensioner!

Holley sells kits for LS motors to mount accessories almost anywhere. Unsure of cost though.

Interesting. They have about 10 different set-ups if you mix-n-match. I think I had to use 2 separate versions to get mine. Still massively cheaper than some of the others.

Thanks for the photos! My water pump is totally different and so is the steering shaft! The location of the inlet/outlet on your water pump would have made things much easer than mine are!

I think I have the problem solved, I’ll just have to make a bracket for the tensioner! Bring it up and in closer to the center, giving more belt wrap on the crank and water pump pulleys! To get a little more on the crank and some on the alternator I’m also adding an idler pulley between them! The tensioner is on the power side instead of the slack side of the belt! If the spring tensioner don’t cut it I will go to a manual one!

What size headers are you running on that?

Thanks again all!

The headers are custom made 1 7/8 all mandrel bent. Those and the Classic chambered mufflers, really woke my car up compared to the old 1 3/4 pinch bent headers.

We built 1 7/8" as well with 3" ID Cherry Bomb mufflers, loud but I think it flows pretty good. How did you run your 4" intake tube? I really don't like how mine is run but I don't see a better way and still have the 10" straight tube before the MAF!

I run a Fitech throttle body injection so everything is just like a carbureted setup. I like my air cleaner sitting up in my scoop.

How do you like the Fitech? I just bought an Fitech for my old 454SS truck. I got the 600hp version, it's a 468 making 550hp or a little better! I'm also going to a built 4L80-E with a EZ-TSU controller!

Thanks for the info,

Al

That won't work too well.
The tensioner should be on the slack side.
The engine is driving the ancillaries, and so they are load to the engine.

I know that's why I may need to go to the manual tensioner! It's only the water pump and alternator, so I'm going to give it a try!

I going to do the new bracket now. I want to put 500-600 miles on it then engine & trans is coming back out! Going to give everything a good going over before we start paint and interior!
