Couple of things:

Mu LeMans cap came from europaspares, and didn't come with gaskets or adapter. Purchased a foot of 1 1/2" fuel filler hose with the cap.

Gasket can be made with rubber plumbing stock from plumbing supply dept.

Fuel filler adapter can be made from exhaust adapter. 2" id x 1 1/2" od.

Filler pipe can be made from 2 lengths of 1 1/2" exhaust tubing 90 deg pieces welded or epoxied together. It doesn't need painting.

The 1/2" vent can be made from 1/2" hose x 3/8 NPT brass connector installed in filler neck. 1/2" fuel line to tank.

Connect each end of filler pipe to filler neck and tank inlet with 3" - 4" of fuel hose at each end, secure with hose clamps.

For extra insurance, run an electrical ground wire from filler neck to frame.

NOW!!! Since the filler cap unscrews so easily, drill and tap a 8-32 hole at the cap to adapter interface at installed tightness, under the cap rear hinge. On final assembly, install an 8-32 stainless setscrew. It cannot be seen by casual observation, cannot be removed except with the correct size allen wrench, and will secure the cap to the adapter preventing its removal by theft or vandalism.
