I think being D.O.T. they would be fine. I'd take it easy on wet roads though. I Emailed M&H and asked them. 235 60 15 front, 275 50 15 rear. Both are 26" diameter. They are good looking tires for your idea on the stencils.

Really do your due diligence here before plunking down $$ for tires that are not made for your application. Flexible sidewall that provides traction in a straight line does not work in a corner-turning situation. There are solutions out there that may provide you a safer more enjoyable ride.

I’m simply asking questions since I’m inexperienced in this area. All feedback welcomed

I think we all want to see you finish off your beautiful project in a fashion that is fit for it's looks and performance. I don't think I'm the first but I recommend Avons for both stated above.
You can make a road trip down to Rodger Kraus in Castro Valley to pick them up and installed / road balanced......or just cash n carry. |

Last time I was at FFR they had an FIA using the kelsey tires. Polyglass are DOT, soft and reasonable in price. I run BB on rear and Powercushion up front. Seems to be a working combo... Remember that 289 cars dont use the tire sizes of the 427, they are too big. In the day not even the 427 used tires as big as today's. My suggestion is a moderate front size, in terms of MM 215 or 225 and rear 255. :) In bias front 6-6.7 and rear 7-8 CSX3021 fronts were the Powercushion type, were 6.70x15 |
I think Bill's Trigo wheels are 7.5" front and 9.5" rear. 235 60 15 front and 275 50 15 rear would be perfect. Coker tire has Pro-Trac tires. N50 for rear.

Some good news! My Trigo 289 style wheels shipped today and will be here next Wednesday! Yahoo!

Three wheels and three spinners showed up today. The fourth wheel and spinner and lead hammer are lost in transit somewhere. Gotta love FedEx
https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/3b/1c/4ef1GWC6_t.jpeg Also ordered my tires from a company called dbtires. Blackwall smoothies (no lettering). Five week lead time. Guess I won’t be driving the car until 2022 |
Bill, what sizes did you order? 245 60 front and 295 50 rear?

2/3 of one spinner polished. First pass with a dark grey compound to smooth, then a white compound to remove all scratches. Finally, mother’s aluminum polish. Brings a great shine. Need to go to Harbor Freight and get more buffing wheels and compound tomorrow.

Bill, Look Great! Looking forward to the Goodyear stencil!

New wheels and tires installed on driver’s side. Had to order new “pins” from Trigo Wheels as the Trigo pins are a different size than the Vintage Wheels US pins. Love the new look.
