Hi Dan, No on the tranny, the hydraulic throw out bearing was the wrong size. Just ordered the correct one so hope to complete the drivetrain installation Tuesday. Fingers crossed... I am getting there.

You may already have a plan for installing the transmission but I found installing 4 pieces of all thread about 10” long in the bellhousing holes for the transmission bolts worked well for me. I slid the trans over on plywood and lifted it on to the 4 studs, used the tail to aim it through the clutch disc and into the pilot bushing. It slid into place like closing a bolt on a rifle. The back of the engine does have to be elevated some but that is probably the case for about any method of installation. Good luck.

Thanks Dan, we have already done the same. The way it sits and having the car up on jacks, hoping the tranny install is not too hard. The part needed is due today and I took a day off so praying it does arrive.
Thanks Glen. We lengthened some wires and relocated the solenoid in order to install the puke tank. Once the engine and tranny are in, we will begin finishing up the install of all the other bolt n goodies left to do. Looking at the headers and the space involved, that looks to a big pain in the butt. I did bend a wrench as ERA notes in the manual so I hope that makes it a little easier. Will update later today on the progress. |

Tranny is in, it slid right in which was nice. Just need to finish up things this weekend fir the drivetrain install....then the fun parts, bolting things on and finishing up the hood and tunnel. Getting closer but as usual behind on my timeline.

After some painful weekends, the tranny and motor are in... two photos of what things look like now. Hooking up things and getting ready to fight with the pipes and headers.

The shine on the car allows you to see the rafters... ha! It looks real nice in the natural light but now a lot heavier to push and I no longer can fit under it.

Thanks, when it was first painted before all the finish work was completed I thought.... oh no. Once they finished it and the car rolled out of the body shop, wow it looks good. The color is actually 1966 Ford Sapphire Blue. Same color as CSX3040 was painted with when the original owner purchased it. Once it rolls out one it’s own power I will post a photo of it in the “wild”.. haha!

Long over due update.... as of last weekend, the electrical work is done for most part, oil cooler and the lines are installed, upper radiator hose set up installed. The hood is supposed to be reinstalled Monday and this weekend I hope to finish installing the lower radiator lines. We shall see but the check list of items to do is getting shorter. The major pain in the butt will be the headers and pipes. So close and now fighting the cold weather. Oh I wish do had a nice heated garage.... oh well, time to put on the thermal under goodies and finish this thing!

Some more work was done....
Tunnel installed including e-brake and shifter boots. Installed drivers seat, adjusting rails and harness. Finished all the wiring and no issues except the hi beam relay doesn’t work well, got another one coming. Today I will be doing the passenger seat and harness so interior is all but done. |
