FFR,
Thanks for the heads up. I'm looking for early two bolt per exhaust port, with standard exhaust port placement in relation to the header bolts. I have a great pair of heads now, a set of D2TE-AA's. They're perfect, small chamber, great shape, completely assembled and ready to go. The problem is they're late heads, and the exhaust port is not in a standard placement in relation to the exhaust header bolts. The port is either raised or lowered significantly in relation to the standard header mounting bolt placement, I forget which. The problem becomes that the header is designed to seal around the port, but the port is raised or lowered, so the sealing bead on the headers ends up IN the port rather than AROUND the port, and the header won't seal.

I have two issues with iron heads I've seen so far. Most need a rebuild, which is costly, and also because they're so heavy, the shipping is costly too. All in all, that's fine. However, soon you start encroaching on Edelbrock territory in cost. For example, lets say a guy has a set of decent heads that need a rebuild and he wants $400. That's a perfectly fair price. I have to ship them to a machine shop to be built. That's probably at least $100. Then I have to buy valves and rebuild the heads. That may be $500 - $600 or more. Now I have to get them from the machine shop to Ed's place - perhaps another $100 in shipping. All told, that's about $1200, give or take. Price of a new set of Edelbrocks is about in that neighborhood. Because of all that I'm looking for a set of heads that are complete and ready to go so I only need to ship them once, direct to Ed's place and also not have to go through the expense of the overhaul. One day a set will pop up, I still have time to continue looking so far. If you see anything please give me a ping. Thanks!

Doug
