Call the guy and ask about any other head work done to these heads?? Milling, cracks, when the valve job was done, how many hours are on these heads, you know check out questions.
Send them to my house I will do the work and send them to Ed.
If you get them for a good price, buy them. Have a good holiday Rick
Hey, Rick!!
How are you, amigo? I owe you a call, we haven't spoken in a long time. I saw those Edelbrock heads, they're in the FE.com classifieds. Of course with the Jurassic software used over there the ad is probably buried on page 3 by now, but they're still there. The guy has them priced at $1250. All in all that's not a bad price for a set of ported Edelbrock's, in fact it's a good price. It's just more than I want to spend now since I have so many more things to buy for the car. All the guys here have been saying to just get it running and upgrade to cool stuff later if I'm able, and that sounds like a wise plan to me. I just want to drive this thing one day - hopefully I make it that long!!!

The heads that I posted above seem to be just what I'm looking for. Of course, what they're going for now has no bearing on what they'll actually sell for, as with eBay it seems things can double or triple in price in the last 15 seconds of bidding. I'm not sure what I should make my high bid on them, any ideas? They seem like nice heads. My sister lives about 20 minutes from the guy, I can always ask her son to run over there to pick them up for me and save the shipping if it's OK with the seller. One day when work starts on the car I want to get up to Ed's place to poke around, I was planning on seeing my sister in the Detroit burbs when I did that. I'll just go to her place first and borrow her car to drive to Ed's and take the heads with me. I guess I can always have her drop them at a shop in the Detroit area to have them checked over and make sure they're OK before I use them. There has to be a few decent shops to do that in the Detroit area. I have valve springs for them already, I remember that Russ sent a set that match the cam I'll be using in the 390, so I can have the shop mount the springs. I don't imagine that this would be a real costly job to do. What do you (and all you guys) think? Talk to you soon, Rick. I hope all is well with you.
