Sure Mike, I wanna hear your webers !
Roebling Road is capable of large gatherings in the range of 200-300 cars running over a weekend. We'll have 20-40 cars probably so plenty of track time divided amongst 3 groups.
We are going to have fun.
If I understand the Gainesville format, there was no passing and only a couple of cars on the track at a time. This will not be the case at Roebling.
You will be placed in a group that is appropriate to your level of experience, along with 5 or 10 other cars. The track is over 2 miles long and regularly runs up to 40 cars in one session, so at 10 cars, it will not be crowed.
Group 1 : Passing with a "point by" in the straight sections only
Group 2 : Passing with a "point by" anyplace but turn 9 or 1
Group 3 : No passing restrictions
In all groups it is the responsibility of the overtaking driver to make a safe pass.
Most of us are in the group 1 category with a few in the group 2 category, and even fewer in the Group 3 category, such as TC( he must have pulled strings to get his HSR and PCA comp Licenses). Most of group 3 will be made up of friends from HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing), like last years GTP car champ Robert Tornello driving his Lola t-600 ground effect coupe, Or Gene Felton, the winningest Imsa driver extant in his Dale jr. #8 Cup car.
All of this is fun to watch, and there is nothing wrong with just coming to watch if one has no desire to get out on the track .
