Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't been responding, had a bug in my computer that really liked it in there and didn't want to leave...My computer guy told me that since I have so many Cobra pics, it must have been bitten by the smake and couldn't move....
Well anyway, your doing pretty good without me Terry!!! Sounds great to me.
I've got some really good plans set up, I'll give you a call on the land line tomorrow so we can go over it.

I sure hope everyone that says they are coming, do come. It should turn out pretty good .
I do know that two very important people are not, our past-pres and our new pres, Dan and Ed. Check it out, here we are giving a big party, and the guess of honor don't show up. What gives, how they gonna act!!!! Let's boycott thier next gig, huh!

Terry,
You can edit your post to change the dates. I'm just not able to make it the weekend that was picked, it's 2 hours longer to the Keys than Silver Springs was, masybe next time. I don't know how I ever put in 40 hours at work.

How about that!!, sounds like a pretty weak excuse to me. Dan's complaining about a 2 hr. drive. Yet, he drove all the way up to Ohio for the DVSF....Next time you have a party at your house Dan, don't expect the Lopez Gang.....boy that even reins!!!

It's not the distance I just can't make it that weekend. I was thinking of making it one day but 12 hours to come and go doesn't leave much of any day left.

My name is T-ro and I just bought an EM Cobra. I live in Ft. Myers and I would like to get in on all this action going on down in the Keys. If someone would contact me (maybe Cobra Dan) and give me more information on whats going on, I could hook up with you guys. We would love to have you join in the fun. Doc and I have two different threads going on in the DSCC forum for this event.

One refers to the room arrangements at the Holiday Inn in Key West where we have a block of rooms set aside at $89.00 per night for Sat. and Sunday nights.

The other refers to tenitive plans:
We are planning on everyone meeting in Miami on Sat. morning. I have made some arrangements for those who wish to trailer over and not deal with Miami traffic Friday night; and also leave their trailers ouside of Miami. I have secure parking for 5+/- trailers and tow vehicles arranged at the Town of Hypoluxo Town Hall / Police Dept. for the weekend. This (Elite & Privileged) group will get a head start on the party Friday night. Fish fry, all you can eat $7.95 (other food available)with live music and dancing and up front reserved parking for the Cobras at the Grumpy Grouper. We will leave from the Hypoluxo / Boynton Beach area at 8:00 am Sat. and met up with the Miami group at 9:00 (place to be determined). You can stay up this way, or stay down in the Miami or Ft. Lauderdale area Friday night; the choice is yours. Do you qualify as elite or privileged?

We will then do the poker run on the way down to the Bay Bottom Crawl on Sugar Loaf Key, spend some time there and then on to Key West Holiday Inn. More plans are in the works (right Doc?). Maybe next time we can schedule some fishing in Marathon. I would love to do that.

Then make your reservation and let us know so we can keep a head count.

maybe we can hook up with your buddy in Marathon on Sunday or Monday before we come back, I'd love to do a little fishing while we're down there. Are you going to come back up to his place after the Run on Saturday or are making reservations with us ? I'll have all the stop's down pack after this weekend, but I know for sure Marathon will have a stop on our Run, maybe your friend can meet you there or something. We will decide on all the stops and the Miami starting point real soon and post it on all the threads by Monday the 22th. We getting really close now, only a few weeks away! Wow!!! Can't wait.....this is going to be GREAT !!!

The starting point from South Florida will be at 9:00 am at Custom Cars, home of the Backdraft Racing Roadsters.
Reg has been kind enough to offer his shop for our sign in and starting point. Reg is our 1st sponsor and will be providing coffee,tea and breakfast thingies. We love you Reg!!!
Next stop will be just for fuel in Florida City and the beginning of the Keys ride. Then we'll stop at the Caribbean Club mm 104 in Key Largo and draw our 1st cards for the Poker Run. The next stop will be at the Holiday Isle Tiki Bar mm 84.5 and the drawing of the 2nd hand.
The 3rd stop will be in Marathon's Island Tiki Bar mm 54. Have you noticed a trend here, all these stops have food and drinks... If we don't gain any weight we'll at least get good and drunk!! Well, maybe not drunk but we will be HAPPY. Next stop will be at the Sugar Loaf Lodge mm 17, after drawing cards we'll visit our racing Cobra buddies at the Bay Bottom Crawl. Hopefully they'll take pity on us and take us on one of their runs...I hope they are good hearted kind folks like the rest of us and grant us our wish...or maybe we can just stand there and beg!!!
For those that prefer to go on to Key West we'll try to make it as short a stop as posible. Anyone wanting to stay at the Crawl, can, they can hook up with the rest of the group at the Holiday Inn Beachside in Key West later where we'll draw our last cards and get ready for the welcome party. The schedule of events will be handed out there and the winner announced as well. One lucky person is gonna have some spending cash... Later in the evening we'll make our presence known to the locals as we head down to Duval St. for more fun, unless you guys let your mates take you shopping. Nah, just tell them they have all day Sunday for that, the night is for dancing and romance. Lot's of good places for that, plenty of different strokes for different folks, or we can party together!!!!!
Sunday we'll have some free time, then later comes the car show and parade down Duval St. The starting point will be at Sloppy Joe's. We'll head east on Duval and back around to Mallory Square and end the parade at the Pier for the Sunset Festival.
Then after dinner at a local fish house, we'll start the party all over again.
Monday (it is a Holiday) after breakfast and some last minute shopping we'll do a FUN Run back while heading home. I have several stops to suggest, like Gary's in Marathon, Island Company Fish House in Islamorada, Shell City in Key Largo, and last but not least, Alabama Jack's for the BEST conch fritters!!!! We can change or drop anyone of those places but Alabama Jack's. I wouldn't miss that stop for anything!! It's a MUST, you'll see!!!

Only 16 days till the FUN starts..... Please join us even if you don't have a Cobra.

Last Call for Room Reservations at DSCC discount is coming soon.
If you are planning on attending the cruise or contemplating the same, I would like to suggest that you reserve your room ASAP.

I need to close out our block of rooms on the morning of Oct. 1st. Those reservations in by that time will get the discounted rate, after that ?

Please let me know that you have reserved a room if you aren't are my list as of yet. (See the other thread on Key West rooms)
Hersch, where are you staying?

I am leaving Wednesday for Snake Rattle & Roll in New Orleans, so I will out of touch until right before we take off. Please get back to me with any questions or comments before I leave. Some of the things that we do there may be implimented in the KWPR.

This our 1st attempt at something like this with the Cobras and would like to see a good turn out, so next year we will have lots of input from you guys, not just Doc & me. Both of us feel we will have loads of fun this year regardless.
