I always wondered why the use of the secondary twist cap, surely the original Lemans cap did not have this. Why not reproduce the original style?
My 69 Mach 1 had a factory flip top gas cap, no secondary cap. There was a spring loaded seal that sat against the filler neck when locking the flip top down.
