As I have said in another post, and Glen confirmed, horizontal pull on one jack post will work without deflection to get your car towed up onto a tow truck, if the bolts are of sufficient strength and the quick jack mount is made of sufficient strength steel and welded well. Done it over a 100 times to get the race car on and off the trailer with no deflection in the mount.

Patrick, I did think that your wrapped strap was a good idea until others pointed out the bending force that would pull the quick jacks together.

Actually, I plan on fabbing up a beautiful looking folding tow hook on the front quick jack, with the tow hook receiver mounted behind the quick jack itself, the quick jack threaded rods and bolts all upgraded to Grade 8, and a new 5/8" hole going through the middle of the quick jack in to the receiver, so the tension from the hook is straight on the bolts and threads and nothing is in shear. Purely from a spectator enjoyment perspective, I, and I think others, would definitely prefer the crane test on the sling/straps.

Destructive testing is just so much fun!

I would have cheated by wedging a 2'x4' between the two quick jacks. Then, if Bob was right and those threaded rods are really B7 Alloy, then I'm winning that crane bet every time.

I have jacked up car with rod between quick jacks and one floor jack in center of rod, I then put jack stands close to quick jacks but there is extra reinforcing from frame on my car. Only continuation competition and challenge cars are reinforced to my knowledge. Would not dare to even try on Bennett car.

Hardly. This weekend I'll fab the back mounting for that directly behind and through the quick jack plate and mount it so that it's easily removable for placement on the rear quick jack or in the glove box. Now, there are a lot of cheap "cosmetic" tow hooks out there for as little as ten bucks. If you buy one, make sure you buy quality. There are a number of test videos on YouTube where they destroy the cheap knock offs. That little gem in the pic goes for $125.

Now, you know I'm not going to actually dangle my car from a crane, but this installation should be able to easily handle it, if I so chose. The installation is directly through the face of the quick jack, which is 1/4" thick steel. The tow hook is fastened with a 5/8-11 Grade 8 flange bolt. The bolt is welded to the back of the quick jack so that the tow hook is easily unscrewable and mountable to the rear quick jack as well or for storage in the glove box. The hardware fastening the quick jack to the frame is 3/8" B7 Alloy, which is roughly equivalent to Grade 5. That's easily upgradeable to Grade 8.
