In this picture here, which is not my car, it appears that the black rubber bushing on the picture's left side, which is the passenger side, is stretched out a bit from the lateral play of the steering rack. But, looks can be deceiving, so if you put a dial gauge on the housing the general rule for non-dedicated-racing cars is that the bushings, also called "steering rack isolators" (and/or insulators) should not allow the housing to move more than 1.5mm (.06") when you turn the steering wheel back and forth with the wheels on the ground.

If you're not noticing any steering slop, then just monitor it. Another tell-tale sign that the bushings need replaced is when you go around a corner nice and hard and then when you straighten out from the turn your steering wheel is not quite where it was before you made the turn. But if you make another hard turn in the opposite direction you can get the wheel to go back to where it originally was.
