Actually, I'm using the BMW reservoir. Peter at ERA talked me out of the Girling cans (very strongly told me I'd be sorry). Although it does bother me a bit that it is the only component in my engine bay that doesn't look period correct, it has been trouble free.

Kevin, you gotta fix that. Buy three of the Moss Motor Girling cans and you will be much happier. I know that BMW reservoir has to bug you each time you open the hood.

OK - my mistake. Do all 3 lines hook up to the one reservoir? I was assuming from the 3 lines that you had the individual reservoirs.

Actually, I should not have the Girling cans in my car since they were apparently not used (as original) in street cars. I failed to understand that at the time. But they aren't causing any problems so I'm going to leave them.

I just got off the phone with ERA and ordered the hard lines. Peter says they have never shipped this unusual package before. This will be a test case for delivery to SoCal. They could arrive with some unique UPS configurations !!

Hi Dan,

Yes, the clutch line comes into the side about half way down - the two brake lines come into the bottom, one on each side of the divider in the reservoir. So, if you had a leak in the brake system that drained the fluid, you would still have either the front or rear brakes since the lines are separate and there are actually two reservoirs in the reservoir housing. If you had a leak in the clutch system that drained the fluid, you'd lose the clutch but still have front and rear brakes since the clutch line is half way down the reservoir.

I've read Patrick's thread on how to make the cans stop spitting and maybe I'll tackle that someday. Although the BMW reservoir is very functional, it does look out of place. Maybe I could fabricate a can-like cover for it that would at least look like something from the 60's

I'll send you a swath of Sham-Wow, gratis. But all you would need to do is Google "metal cone top cans," like this one, then cut the bottom out of it, paint it black, glue a Girling decal on the front, then just slip it over the BMW reservoir. That would fool 99% of the Cobra world and would look great.
