As I said, better late than never. Plus, as evidenced by Ang's beauty they're still building them with creative style. Love the shape of the top Ang. What's the secret to getting into the trunk?

Electric actuators in the trunk lift the top off the lid Frank. Full access to the trunk. No need to cut the lid in half.

If I had found someone that knew how to set up an LS7, I would have gone with that. Opted for a KeithCraft 427 Dart, instead.

Default FFR coupe build

Waiting on my 65 coupe complete kit to arrive in December Meanwhile building a 289 into a 307. Already have a new T-5 and sourced the diff and spindles for the IRS rear. I was wondering about the fr and rear sway bars, the wiper assy and the HVAC. Can any of this be found new after market? I heard the front sway bar is MX-5? The wiper assy looks like my 1968 Sprite. Any help would be appreciated.

I just bought my bucket list car. 1965 427 Cobra. I bought my car from an engineer in Minnesota. My car was the FFR 2010 November Calendar Car.

Default Info on a Mk II build?

I purchased a used FFR MkII (FFR3132) from North Sore Classics in Chicago in November 2022. It is a beautiful burgundy metallic; no stripes (yet), 351 engine and 5 speed. Unfortunately, I have zero documentation on the build and was hoping someone out there may be familiar with the car to help me document its history. I do know it was registered in Wisconsin in 2015 but little else. Any information on the car would be most appreciated! Thanks!

My initial plan was to purchase an LS3 Chev and an automatic. Used availability and price changed my plan. I don't have a shop to build a car in, so a completed car was going to be my plan. I found a car 4 hours away from Lake Country, in Abbotsford BC, Canada. It was build by Shannon Wall at Western Motorsports in Calgary Alberta. He built one of the first FFR cars in Canada.

He built it for racing in hillclimbs and autocross. It's low on features and high on race gear. It has no heat/ac, power steering, brakes, wipers or even an e-brake. It was built to go fast. The car is claimed to weight 1980 lbs. I'll find out eventually when I get it corner weighted. It is an FFR MK1 built in 1997 and has 27k miles on it. It runs a 347 with aluminum heads and intake, SDS EFI, T5 trans, 8.8" Torsen with a 3 link, Penske coilovers and frt and rear sway bars. It has ROH 17x8.5 & 9.5 wheels, but it also came with a set of Enkei Racing (not sure what model. Certainly not current) 18x9.5 and 18x11 (custom widened) race wheels, currently with really old Goodyear race slicks. It also came with 2 set of seats. It has the usual low back leather seats, but also came with a set of Cobra race seats. It is very high strung and has a 2k mile new motor in it.

The car has raced at the Knox Mountain Hillclimb in Kelowna, BC for 3 yrs. In 1999 it became the fastest door slammer to have ever raced there, setting a record of 1 minute 55 seconds. Here's a link to a few details about the car with a few pics. https://www.wmsracing.com/wms/wms-racing.php If you look carefully at the photos you can see the race seats, oddball roll cage and lack of windshield in a few pics.

My plan is to start autocrossing it locally and have fun with it. I plan in running RE71RS on the 18" Enkei's and will likely install one of the Cobra seats.

I'm really looking forward to the fun.

Thanks.

Matt

Default Finally?

So…

I don’t remember when specifically, but I remember when I started researching cobra kits and finding this site many years ago.

Lots of mileage between now and then, some of it off roading and pretty rough, but God has been so faithful.

I believe the dream to build a car is finally coming into view.

First a garage, gather the parts, then order the kit.

The dream was a slab side, but I love the Factory Five set up, always have, and the price point for the 427 body style.

My sons are gear heads, and though I’m a Ford guy, I’ll probably put a LS 6.0 with a 5 speed in it and order the rest of the parts from FF.

A few logistics to take care of, but my beautiful bride seems to be fully supportive!

So, all that to say, it’s good to be back.

Living in Pasadena MD.

So, Perry will we see you this summer ?? Maybe take Clark (I sold him a Superformance 2years ago, he lives in BC) along with you.
We have a tour here in Sequim this June to remember Shelby engine builder (Gordon Chance) We will bury the hatchet for one day and have invited the Ferrari folks, along with the Austin Healey, Porsche 356, folks that knew Gordon. Starting with our Cars & Coffee, a 2-3hour tour, then ending up at a private airport to enjoy a BBQ, if that sounds like fun, contact me K?
Or we will be going to our Vintage Races Jun. 29 @ Pacific Raceways, we had 17-Cobras 2-GT-40's and 2 Ford GT last year, I know we will have more this year, we've adding 2-AutoKraft's a West Coast to our club roster. Cheers Buddy, Tom.
