I know that in the past, some systems were runnibg through the radiator too fast, so the water did not stay in the radiator long enough to cool well. I also ran the iron pump and when I changed to the Edelbrock,......big difference.
Like I mentioned, what size pulleys work the best ?
Dave- How do you figure the 15% and what's your 3 pulley size's ?

The 3rd pulley (alternator) is irrelavent as far over-driving the water pump, don't care, didn't even measure it. I'm producing a ton of voltage at idle so the alternator pulley is a non-issue.
It's actually 12.5% overdriven. Crank pulley diameter/water pump pulley diameter.
The "water moving too fast through the radiator too fast" concept has always been and forever will be a crock-o-sh!t, no basis in fact.

Kevin:
a good rule of thumb is to have the water pump pulley 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter SMALLER than the crank pulley, that way your overdriving the water pump....
For a 6 3/4in. crank pulley, to get 15% overdrive, you would need a 5 3/4in, water pump pulley.........
The alternator pullley is the small one and with a 6 3/4 in crank pulley, you will not have to worry about the alternator......

Nope, don't use those, look again, your UNDERDRIVING your water pump by roughly 13% with these, you want to overdrive your water pump..................
You need to reverse those numbers........
