Tony and Keith (and Shelly) are good Arkansas people. They will do a good job of taking care of you. If you are able to (possibly your're too far away) - think about asking them to notify you in advance of the dyno break in and pulls so you can attend. It's interesting to watch.

My KC482 has a242/248 Hyd roller cam, valve springs are heavy 924-16 and engine runs with Webers. After finetuning the Webers no spitting out of the carbs and running great !

I will be picking the car up tomorrow or Sat at the latest. The installer keeps commenting on how nasty it sounds, says it sounds like it want to eat you when it is idling

Good for you...sounds like a good motor, and Keith was/is the pioneer with hydraulic rollers.

My 482 arruminum Shelby is running 264/264 duration, 110 separation, .658 lift and has run just fine for the past 10 years at the track, high heat stop/go and anything else thrown at it...no problemos since we went to the old-school solid flat tappet (original solid roller was a bit problematic, but that was back in 2003). Boghosian-built and maintained.

Just to let you know you've got a good safety margin built in.

I picked the car uptoday, all I can say is hope I don't kill myself in it. Thanks to Blykins on the cam suggestion. Thing sounds like a fuel dragster almost. Street manners acceptable. And you guys were right, the sound of a big block is like no other. Driving back from Orange County, Ca. It turned heads all over the place. cameras going.

Really pleased

Good for you...they really sound good bouncing off the canyon walls on the Ortega Highway if you ever take that route.

Funny comment about staying alive. When I picked mine up in 2003 and loaded it into the trailer with less than 100 miles on it for the London gathering, I hadn't really floored it. By the second day, I found it necessary to do full burnouts down Main street throughout the day (first year we got to do that). Pulled a near 400hp reading on the mobile dyno while we were there...a little low but what did I know. Drove it all over the damn place for another year until Turk, Buckley and I drove up to Redding for Kool April Nights. I could always stay with Turk and Pat through the 1/8 mile, but they would both start pulling me after that by a little. Anyone who knew Buckley would tell you that once he sniffs a problem, he just doesn't let go. Our motors were basically identical, though he had a dry sump. Throughout the weekend he kept sticking his head under my hood.

Found out the linkage was stopping at about 3/4 travel by hitting the Lucas light relay on the firewall. He fixed that quickly enough, and soon the damn thing threatened to keep the seat of my pants full. Til then, it was probably the fastest 2 bbl Cobra around.

...but I always say that learning about the car at the reduced power levels that first year probably kept me alive.

Forget Reno...the heat, the morons, the drunk casino slugs that think they make sense talking to you about Cobras...

Kool April Nights is...well...cool for one thing. The whole town is into it...great cruise route on one or two days with the roads closed off, but every drive-in or restaurant ends up being a car show venue. Cars inside the convention and outside on the expansive lawn...good number of vendors for food and car stuff. Cars that would do just fine at the Pomona Roadster Show or at Good Guys or anywhere else. Great driving roads in the mountains...al the way to Mt. Shasta or to the Whiskeytown area. We sort of made a splash with three bare arruminum Cobras together on the route.

Yes...it rains on occasion. So? Nice big golf umbrella works much muy goodo when you park.

Honestly the best damn car show venue I've ever been to...period.
