Hi Scott
Check out the Hitachi pro racing starters.
2.0kw Their around $250.00 . I have one on
my FE427 and it's working great. Any hi-performance shop should be able to get you
one.

I also have a Hitachi gear reduction starter. Seems to work great. The nose has multiple holes so you can rotate the starter body so that the cables can avoid headers. My cars not quite on the road yet, but I have been doing a lot of garage miles and it turns over fine everytime. BTW: I got my starter from a local Bay Area rebuilder "Autoletrics" for about $150 (1 year warranty and they stand behind their work)I also got my 85amp chrome alternator from them for $75)both about a year ago so prices may have changed some.

Rick

Are you using the Shelby Aluminum Block? It was recommended to me to use the powermaster starter. But it does not fit the shelby block without modifying it for clearance. Did the Tilton starter fit out of the box? Thanks for any advice?

Tim
