Default Fuel Pressure Yes Fuel No

Q: I don't drive it enough. Tried to start my "Cabin Cobra" this fall before closing up for the winter. Crank crank crank and nada. 7.5 lbs fuel pressure - Gauge at carb inlet. Finally pulled air cleaner and absolutely no trace of fuel anywhere.

514 crate. 1050 Holley. Anyone seen this? possible electric? Needs carb cleaner?. thoughts?

Jahred

PS. I replaced a beat up Holly Blue with a Morosso??? And some monster fuel lines (half inch??) along with return lines last year. Finicky as hell. Seems to lose prime or such. Ten gallon tank I bet lines take up a chunk of that

Thoughts welcome!

Can you hear the pump pumping? If so, crack the fuel line at the card and see if you got fuel squirting out. Also manually pump your carb with the cleaner off and see if you're pumping fuel down the throat.

If it were mine, I'd run the electric fuel pump for ten seconds or so, shut off the power, look down the carb and open the throttle completely to see if fuel squirted down the throat. If there was no fuel but the pressure gauge showed 7.5 PSI, I'd disconnect the fuel line from the carb, stick it into a container and run the fuel pump for another few seconds. If fuel ran into the container, I'd know the carburetor is getting fuel but not passing it through (e.g., a stuck closed float valve). If fuel did not run into the container I'd know the gauge is likely faulty and perhaps blocking the flow of fuel to the carb.

Needle and seats are stuck closed.

Pull them out, bet they are stuck shut.

99% sure your problem is needles and seats. Remove BOTH bowls and check them. Recently, I had this problem on an engine I was not running on a usual basis. If the fronts are sticking then there is a good chance the rear needle and seat will be also. So, after you check the front ones and get them working and see fuel squirting from the accelerator pump movement, you think you have cured the problem. The secondaries are used not that often even with a double pumper. I could not believe how much reside was at the bottom of the rear bowl. Check both bowls.
