Should be ready in a couple of weeks....I'm hoping for at least by Labor Day. I really dont know about the scoop...Larry said he is going to create a new JBL scoop that looks more traditional. I will post pics soon as I see it.

John: Does your favorite scoop resemble this...

I don't know what kind of enhanced performance one might get from the shape.

Larry, you got me. I've always liked aluminum scoops!

Bill, Larry Goins did the work on the rear wheel wells....you can see what it takes by looking at the pics in his gallery....his user name is GMS. Not sure what it costs but you can send him a pm. He has a shop now up in Jay OK.

hey john, just a thought. while you have your body man tied down you might look into putting the cooling ducts on. that way if you need them in the future it is a lot easier and they look neater then trying to do it later. i just put mine on and it is a hassle.

took the silver car out to heartland park and the brakes work wonderful, don't know if yours are different. was tooling around the track getting a feel for things and at the end of the straight there was a left 90 so i'm starting to brake for this and the brakes come on with too much rear bias and the rear gets squirrely but i can't let off because i need to make the turn, mucho fun. got them set properly and have to relearn to brake, they come on pretty strong and the deceleration is increasing in rate so it is easy to slow too much.

so i put the ducts on to take care of them, they're my friends.

Mark, I like good braking too which is why I went with the 14" rotor six piston Wilwoods up front and 11.6" Mustang Cobra rotors on the rear. One of my first to-do's is to get the front/rear bias set good.

What did you use for ducting materials etc.?

14" i had some brake duct material sitting around from another project. routed one hose to the alternator, will route one to each rotor/hub. i've heard guys in full size sedans burning up the hub bearings like these cars use so i don't think a little air will hurt.

No problems other than time. Hood scoop painted and on...roll bars are on. Still needs quickjacks on and doors mounted. Then I get it back and will need to take dash out and get it covered, get carpet installed. So there is progress.

How is RnG looking for you?

if that's the picture that is pretty sharp, looks like the standard hood was used. guy at work is a big hunter and drives a dark green toyota, bought a newer red one and i kid him about wearing red lipstick and high heels, told him he'd look like the tasmanian devils wife. but i gotta say, that is one nice looking brilliant car with the stripes and meatball, you'll have to get another one for everyday use, that's what the guy with the red pickup did, parked it and still drives the piece of junk. glad i don't own anything that nice, couldn't take care of it.

i'm up for run n gun, ran through the suspension and had to adjust a few things, knew i was only close on a few things, had to get them perfect. also trying to make everything look nice since i'm going to the city to be amidst company.

went to the track a couple times with street tires and decided that was worthless, so i've put off as long as i can and ordered a set of track tires, but don't know if they'll show in time. looking at the tracking, they showed up in californy twice it looks like.

i'm of the opinion of jmarsey, you can have a track car or a street car, hard to have both, and harder yet to try to tear them up on the track once they're fixed up. one car is like flying a cherokee, the other a fighter, have to stay on top of the fighter and not get to playing around too much.

you know we need some more pics of your stuff. looks good. think i'm going to have a cigarette.

definitely looks like a jbl.

looking at the rear seat valance inside of the wheel, you might want to be careful with clearance. the black car from the previous owner has inletting as shown, the silver car didn't and was chunking the tire, but was later relieved by myself with a special tool. maybe the design has changed also. you can see the relationship to the tire. i never could understand why the protrusions were there until i noticed the silver car rubbing. yours looks to have definitely had the flare treatment.

Mark,

I did have to clearance near the top of the rear seat area (inside the wheel well) for the tire not to rub when the suspension was compressed a lot. Yes Larry did make a new mold for the body that encloses the rear wheel well more...added about two inches to it similar to John Marsey's.

Richard,

Thanks for the compliment. I am looking forward to getting it on the road and working out any bugs before winter hits here in TX.....which varies a lot. Larry G. will have done a laser alignment front and back before I get it.

John

looks good. i don't know how they determined the lines for this body, but personally, i think it looks the best hands down, and they look so cute and cuddly when they're young and new to the world. think we'll call it the tangerine dream.
