Hey Doug, I appreciate the invitation. I am planning to drive the flip-top soon after it's competed. I work fast, so I'm guessing this project will take about 100 hours after I get it back from Provo. David K. Is suggesting around this June. Not sure yet. This will be practice run. We are hoping to do something big for 2012. Maybe around election time. I think it would cool to get as many cobras possible to make this journey. Even if they drive through their own states with us. I will start a thread soon and will need some help with logistics in DC. Thanks, Darren

I gave out 150 "Don't Tread On Me" pins at our Open House yesterday.

I can hardly wait :D

That gets me thinking of all the other things we should be rendering around here. Is this what you do for a living?

Thanks David. I'm semi-retired down here, dabble in restaurants and property, but graphics is what I really love to do. Part hobby, part business, I do commercial and custom art projects out of my home office. Working on Cobra and concept car related art is pure joy for me and with the stuff you guys are turning out, my inspiration meter is pegged!

Thanks for the kind words. Maybe we should all plan a trip to come and see you. It might be hard to bring the cars, however

David, Feb is a "good" time to visit Buzz. Don't wait 'till July:JEKYLHYDE.

Buzz 02-21-2011 08:04 AM

Looks like I'll have to come to you to see the cars. I was actually thinking about hopping across and visiting you guys to see some of the cars and projects in the flesh when I fly up to Las Vegas for the Cobra/Ferrari smackdown, but time just won't allow on this trip.

Blitz's car will be the first Kirkham I get to see up close and personal and you can bet I'll photograph it from every possible angle for base material to use in future Cobra art projects!:)

VERY nice!

Buzz 02-24-2011 07:25 PM

Revised Fliptop rendering. The cowl scoops are moved to the cowl (duh:3DSMILE:) where they belong, the superfluous fresh air hose is removed and the side exhaust cutout now exits through a hole in the body. Along with a few other subtle detail changes that will only matter on the large poster print.

Yes, much better Buzz. Looked like crap before.

tkb289 02-24-2011 07:44 PM

Buzz,

Beautiful poster ... complements the whole project very nicely :)

Between the car and the motor, this is one heck of a cool project, looking forward to seeing it all come together!

Engine update: Keith is almost finished with the build. A couple small detail parts needed. We are going to use the FAST XFI EFI system for the hilbourn injection. I'm adding traction control to this build. The engine should dyno and ship in two weeks. This is a fun project and welcome comments. Darren

Jamo 02-24-2011 11:20 PM

So...think you'll have it on the road for Sonoma (Wine Country Cobra Classic) in May?

N2VENOM 02-25-2011 01:01 AM

I need about 100 hours to do the wiring, interior and work out the bugs. "Sonoma" would be a great shake down drive. I hope David can finish his side of the project in the next 4-5 weeks. Per Keith, the cammer will be done in two weeks delivered in three. The only concern I have is the stack system install and the traction control. I might be optimistic with the 100 hours, but will have a couple of buddies on stand-by. Darren

jmimac351 02-25-2011 05:52 AM

Darren, is your car going to have the exhaust just poking out the side as in the poster? That looks like the ideal setup for those early Sunday morning starts in the neighborhood. :D

Buzz 02-25-2011 06:42 AM

If I may answer for Darren, the Fliptop will have a full rear exit undercar exhaust system with the cockpit operated side exit cutouts for when he feels like raising a lil' hell.

N2VENOM 02-28-2011 01:46 PM

Update: Keith Craft is finishing up the Cammer and will be dyno'd next week. It should ship in 2 weeks. With mild cams, we're looking at about 700hp.

N2VENOM 03-15-2011 11:23 AM

Here are few Cammer pictures.... Almost done :):)

Wow, that cammer is sweet.

You sure those stacks are tall enough though??

Keithc8 03-22-2011 11:04 PM

The stacks will be cut to length when that length is determined. We have some shorter ones but they did not look as nice as these. They may be a option to be chromed or powder coated but like I said may just have these cut to length needed.

Thanks, Keith

dallas_ 03-23-2011 02:07 PM

I love tall stacks, I just couldn't quite imagine how those were going to fit under the hood.
