The highest price I can think of was in the $50,000 area. You guys have no idea how much I'd love to go to Provo. But, alas, I cannot. I would definitely talk to David before ordering, in person. I'm still several years out from that though.

Thought you were closer, from the frequency of your posts.

There may be no more gasoline in several years.

If there isn't any gasoline when I get this car, that's fine. I'll just buy some distillery equipment and make moonshine. 100% Ethanol, in a car that already makes stupid power.

I wish I was closer to pulling the trigger, but in my case, it makes sense. I'm just a young guy almost half way through his BSME. I was snake bit at a really young age. I post a lot though because I like the Cobra community and the more I'm around, the more I learn. Time frame, I'd say roughly 4-5 years before I start getting things together for the engine, but for me, that doesn't mean anything. Most of that time is spent finishing up an engineering degree.

BTW, there was a Kirkham for sale on eBay, which was purchased by someone who ultimately posted here on Club Cobra. The Kirkham came from Florida, with a similar "fancy" padded interior with rubber steering wheel, but in gray, and also has 17" wheels and tires. The new buyer replaced the interior and installed 15" Trigos with Billboards.

Here's that old thread:

When you finish your degree, you will have a different opinion of the project.

Thanks for that thread. I found the pictures of the Kirkham, and it's not bad. I'm not crazy about gray, it's a dull color, but it was nicely done. For the best picture I can show you guys of what I'd do, I found this picture I had. Let me know what you guys think. I wouldn't go with the simulated wood, it would be carbon fiber.

It looks a little like the dash of my old Sunbeam Tiger.

Not sure what a carbon fiber dash looks like, but as we've all said, though differently, "whatever floats your boat."

It's the old ice cream analogy. Some people like chocolate, some like rocky road, some like vanilla and others like bubble gum. Personally, I like carrot and broccoli ice cream.

Honestly, in 4-5 years, your tastes may and probably will change.

You could always buy a Z06 or ZR1 Corvette.

(inside joke here at Club Cobra).

Otomix, I'm still thinking about FFRs besides Kirkhams. I've already looked at all the brands, I know what I like and what I don't like. I haven't looked at them in person, but I've gone through the various companies and seen what they have to offer. The only brand I've been in, is FFR. But, I'm not really looking for other makes.

Rodknock, I like the ZR1, but there are better rides to go for. A Ford GT or a Ferrari California is more my tastes than the ZR1. But neither of those appeal to me as much as a Cobra.

Sorry, these photos are not of a Kirkham, but a FFR owned by Herb Fraser.

Yep, they are of Herb's beautiful FFR. I didn't mean they were of a Kirkham. Sorry for not making that clear. The Kirkham that had an interesting interior is below.

Have we ruled out Elvis, mullets, trailor parks and red crushed velvet interiors yet, or are they still options?

Just promise me you'll put some fuzzy dice in that car.

Whatever you do, build your dream.

Doug, I will build my dream when it happens. At a car show, I'd probably put some black fuzzy dice in the car. An uncle of mine up in MN puts on a car show every summer, and it's called the Fuzzy Dice Cruise. So I probably will put a set on the mirror at every car show to remember his car shows. They were pretty sweet and the town shuts down main street every year for it. It's like a time lapse to see a small old mining town full of hot rods and muscle cars. The main street looks more or less how it did probably 30 years ago, so the buildings haven't changed much.

That's the one. I mean the workmanship looks very nice, but for my taste, it doesn't belong in a Cobra, Kirkham or otherwise. But that's me.

Also, the gray interior on a silver paint job didn't help the matter for me.

If the interior was black, it would look pretty nice.

I got to ask...
What can you do to an FFR to have it go to close to costing what a Kirkham would?

Just Curious?

Joe, of all the interiors you posted, the last one looks the best imo. The other 3 were tacky from my point of view. The gray interior looked clean, professional, and stock (if you didn't know what an original cobra interior looked like).

When I first joined this site I looked at LOTS of old posts. Especially posts like "show me your interior," and stuff like that. I think there was even a post a few months ago that was titled something like, "Pics of the strangest interiors." You should check them out.
