To all,
I guess my post was not taken in the manner intended, I was simply asking questions in order to clairfy the content of the vehicle David was offering for 39,900.
I was under the impression that David was holding a market study of similar products in order to establish market trend. My intention was not meant to be underhanded or state that Kirkham was pulling a fast one but rather wanted to know the content of the vehicle in mention.
Apparently David is willing to offer the car in quantity for which I am surprised, however I did not mean it to be a dare or insult. Regretably I have been buried in meetings for the past two days or would have posted a statement earlier in an attempt to defuse the aggression that has been shown towards my post.
I will be speaking to the Kirkhams concerning business in 2004 in private as per standard business practice. I did not think I was as far out of line as has been depicted in the subsequent posts but must apologize to David in light of the circumstances.
I still have to state that I think it is a great buy and a neat product, I was not giving input on the 27 COB cars to try and deturr Cobra fans from the purchase but rather give some positive input on the concept and its history.

Brent ,
I for one am glad you post here ....It is one of the few opourtunities we get to here from someone inside SA...I could not tell if your comments were just a little competitive bluster.....deadpan humour...or ....?? the "give me 10 "with paint " comment did seem a bit disingenuious.....
SA offering a roller at $39.900 raised a lot of eyebrows, gathered in some fence sitters and got some of your detractors howling...
Kirkham has just raised the bar again........I want to believe you respect that......
You know what you must do.................LOLOLOL

Despite your statement to the contrary, and having re-read your post, I still believe that your intent was to "call" the Kirkhams on their offer as you did not believe that they were serious.
I am still waiting to read, with interest, your comparison of the differences between a Shelby and a Kirkham that you said you would provide.
Thanks and good luck.

Pat,
I did not post the differances between a Kirkham and a Shelby due to requests from several members as well as professional courtesy after being pounded for airing dirty laundry on this site.
I do not care if you believe my last post and stand behind the statement that it was not intended to "call" David's bluff. I believe a few of the members sit in wait to get **** thrown and start crap and I therefore refuse to feed into the bull**** that people like yourself wish to create.
I think this site has a majority of true Cobra fans with good in heart and do not care to feed into the crap the minority wish to create.
If you truly want to know the differance please come to SAI in person and myself or one of the sales staff will gladly walk you through it form head to toe.

I think you do a fine job of "starting crap" and creating bs all by yourself - you should include youself in that group.
Your involvement on this Forum has provided quite a bit of amusement - stop whining whenever it doesn't go your way - although I must say it never seems to go your way so I can understand the defensive lashing out.
You may want to consider holding off on the digging part - I think the hole is deep enough.
I have been to SAI - thanks for the offer - I must have missed the part where you "did not post the differances between a Kirkham and a Shelby due to requests from several members as well as professional courtesy after being pounded for airing dirty laundry on this site".
What? Who said that a factual explanation of the differences between a Shelby and a Kirkham had to be something that was done in a negative way? I honestly was looking forward to the explanation of the differences but was left with the feeling that perhaps there weren't enough differences to amount to anything?
Oh well - as I said, good luck. I am done with this.

CSX number vs. KMP number (whatever they are)
The differences are closer to $5000.00 not $20,000!!

Less than 20K? Well, if you don't mind not having some little things like wheels and tires.
Course, current pricing just sorta changed the equation a bit.

You don't think I could ship one of those $39,900 cars to Las Vegas and have it turn around abnd come back with a CSX number for $5000.00?
Same car...Same equipment..Same little things like that!
You don't think they would take parts out of the cars, do you?

Turk,
Shelby didn't take us up on any of the cars today; why do you think they would tomorrow?
As for shipping complete cars to them...been tried and suggested numerous times by several people.

YOU could.
Course, we still need to know what the differences are for the current cars. Oh wait, I forgot...them blade fuses versus them old fashioned glass tube things.

David,
They probably heard they were all sold!!
Jamo,
Differences between my car and your car or diferences between my car and one of these $39,900 cars?
You are not suggesting your car and these cars are the same, are you?
I think the wiring harness is another $59.00 for those who prefer the glass fuses.

I should've been clearer. We still don't know from Brent F. what the significant differences between Kirkhams and CSXs were/are that he referred to. Obviously, if we are talking about your former CSX (now Dano's) and a normal retail Kirkham, in terms of pricing before these last two days, then that's obviously not a true comparison.
If we're talking about a Kirkham roller at retail and a CSX roller at retail say, a few months ago, then the price difference is readily apparent.
As far as the Super Dave Discount Kirkhams sold today and mine, the basic package is the same, except for the lack of a rearend. Obviously, I had some options added (for example, carpet installation, etc.), as you know, but the car's the same and has the added advantage of the newer suspension pieces, having the brushed finish included (which I paid extra for), etc.
Folks got a great deal, and more power to them. I got a great deal at the time, just like you did from SAI.
It's all good.
BTW, I seem to recall the offered price is open til Friday.

Turk, I'm wondering if you think that some unseen components have not been included in the $39,900 deal, or that lower quality components have been substituted in their place? Which parts in particular might they be?
I know that some companies will cut corners to meet a price point, but I can't see Kirkham being one of those companies...
