A question that might be asked in any one of the dozens of other countries that provide coverage for ALL their people. How do they even maintain a decent doctor to patient ratio?
When I was working I was covered by dental insurance, never used it much. Then one day I chipped a tooth. I could NOT find a freakin' dentist in town who would do the work under my insurance. I actually had to threaten to SUE my employer to pay for it out of HIS pocket! He called a personal dentist friend and cut some kind of sweet heart deal with the guy to get my tooth fixed. I never did find out who actually paid the bill... |
