They made a movie with a "Real Doll."

Do you mean it had some good parts? I never watched any of it as it didn't sound that interesting to me.

I wrote some articles on them back when they were new. It's pretty weird stuff, but then, I suppose there are people out there who would say the same thing about us...

Darn Gunner,
Now you have me curious about these things. I guess I am going to have to do a search and read about them. I never dreamed they would cost that much. For that price they should clean house and drive the car.

"She can't vacuum, she can't cook but she can do almost anything else if you know what I mean," TrueCompanion's Douglas Hines said.
Sounds like they modeled it after my ex-wife.
"She's a companion. She has a personality. She hears you. She listens to you. She speaks. She feels your touch. She goes to sleep. We are trying to replicate a personality of a person."
Gunner,
Is there a mute button or is that extra ?

The originals don't talk.
My original point was that this guy took "years" to take an existing item and put a really crappy, cobbled-together touch-response system in it. A competent hobbyist could have built one in a weekend AND stuffed it up... ah, inside the doll.
