Steve,

Every business around here has been saying that for the past 6 months and they just keep raising the prices. I guess the higher price for fuel has to be made up some way. Airline tickets have gone up so much that the only one they had flying out of Redding has closed up and left as they didn't get enough business to fly up here. But that has been a thing here for the last 25 years with every airline they manage to get to fly here leaving after a few months or year.

Over here in Oz we're paying around $1.40 p/litre for regular so add 10c for 95 or 20c for 98.

So regular works out at around $5.30 a gallon.

Oil up this morning. I don't see gas prices coming down anytime soon. It's going to be a tough spring / summer for some vacation places.

Gas has gone up about 20c a gallon in the past week. Predictions are no longer for $4.00 (which happened a long time ago) but for $5+ by the end of the summer.

Go ahead. Just drive faster and you can save gas by getting to where you are going quicker.

Bob,

They are hurting. People aren't driving as much and using as much gas and it is cutting into their $7 billion quarterly profit. I see more people on bicycles and small motorcycles around here when the weather is good than I have ever seen before.

i think it should be a law where all the same brand gas stations should charge the same price for gas.....all am/pm should charge the same price.....all Shell should charge the same price....etc.etc....and all stations no matter what brand it be should be within .02 cents of each other....just a thought...

I would have loved that when I owned my stations. The oil companies have "zone pricing" though. The price they charged me for fuel was different at all three stations, even though they were all within 10 miles of each other. AM/PM also does not take credit cards, and there gas is not top tier, so they can charge less for their fuel. Credit card fees were a killer for us.

BTW: Gas today $4.17 and diesel $4.45 at the local station.

Sounds like communism/socialism/liberalism.

Why not have everyone's pay the same too ?

I run race fuel at $6.00 - $7.00 per gallon...therefore $4.00 per gallon sounds inexpensive to me. It's the price we pay to play! Great gas mileage if it does not leave your carriage house!!!

I run a mix of race gas and 91 in the Cobra, so I hear you. I think filling up the regular vehicles is more of a hit in the wallet. I am leaving today for Arizona, then Vegas, then back to San Diego. That is about an 800 mile round trip journey. I am glad we bought a diesel car last year.
