I would love to have a Diesel Powered Hot Rod sometime. Im thinking of a twin turboed 7.3 Powerstroke in a 32 Hi-boy roadster replica. Now THAT would be different.

Mike,
Since I know absolutely nothing about diesel engines, just how much power and at what RPMs would that one you mentioned make? I am not a drag racer, so really great quartermile times aren't to important to me. I want something that will go fast and handle great as I like the road tracks. And as I said, with the SB-100 numbers impossible to get up here, a dieselengine would get me out of the smog hassell.

Ron, are you talking about the one that I want to put in a rod or the Cat C15?

The one for the rod. It would be priceless to see one of these smog referees faces when they opened the hood to do their smog bit and saw a deisel engine setting in there. No smog equipment required at this time.

Ron, The three are the Pontiac ( got that fixed a little bit ago ), the Farm truck and my wifes Tahoe.
Mike, did your dad say he and you were building this car or are you the only slugger in the lineup?

Tru, the way it is going now, it probably will end up being a full build, what we were originally planning on doing, so it would be both of us doing the build. This is both of our dream cars, and me and him think it will be something really special if we actually do the build ourselves. I think it would be a great father/son thing.

Mike I hope it comes to fruition for you and your Dad. My best time with my Dad was when he and and my friends Dad helped us put a SBC into a MGA when I was in High school. Lots of fond and not so fond( ) memories of the time we spent together working on that project for almost a year.
The best to you, lad

G.R. (Island Creature is your other nick name, right?-) thanks for the kind words. I think it would be great therapy for us both to come home and turn wrenches together on our dream car. I think we would hold on to it longer, and have a special bond, if we actually did the build ourselves. However, it still is pretty much up in the air at the time, so anything could happen. I can't wait for this house to be done its already puttin a lot of stress on pops, end the dam## thing isn't even started yet (paperwork seems endless, you get one thing done, then you either have to wait for something else or wait for a reply from something you already filled out, which usually means you have to fill out yet ANOTHER piece of paperwork.)
Ron- do you think a Merlin V-12 would fit in a Cobra? Would that be smog excempt?

Actually I was thingking more along the lines of a turbo charged V-6 or V-8 if such things exist that give any performance. I really don't care about doing over 175 MPH, so that isn't a big deal. The Merlin engine would at least create a lot of looks. I could put the seat and sterring in what was the trunk and make a one off car I guess.

Mike, that is great! I did the same thing with my sons. The younger has been involved right along. The older son has diverted his attention to members of the opposite sex and so...we have gilrs visiting off and on.
You and your dad will have a great time.
Ron!!!!! Stop with this mower deal here. You need to push mow three or four acres... right? Heck, I'd be happy to see grass, brown or other wise.
Kristen, the championship for districts is tomorrow. I hope the boys follow your childs lead and win to go to states. Good luck!!!

Tru,
Good luck with the district championship. I will be rooting for your boys.
Heck no, I don't mow 3 or 4acres. A half acre is more like it as my whole place is just 3/4ths of an acre. But the older I get, the larger that upper lot becomes. By the time I finished yesterday, I would have bet a 747 could have landed in it.

My brain is not wired like most people's.
If chocolate chip cookies have chocolate chips, and peanut butter cookies are made with peanut butter, and sugar cookies are made with sugar, what are Girl Scout cookies made of?
When is the last time you actually saw a Girl Scout?

UT,
I think they have a boy scout troop and a girl scout troop around here, but now that you brought it up, I haven't seen one in a couple of years. I guess it isn't the in thing here any more. Must belong to a gang and have at least one arrerst to be one of the in crowd.
