does a long pole come with it, buy it from the same place, or gotta get your own someplace else?? I hate to show my ignorance, (as usual, again) but I don't know what OEM stands for. I've always wondered.....
when tightening, is there a certain level of torque you want to tighten to??? 3 were what I would call 'normal torque' one was very tight; of course not to the point of breaking.... kristen |
OEM---Original Equipment Manufacturer A genuine Ford part with a Ford part number, or a genuine GM part with a GM part number! (etc etc etc)
|
I will overlook your previous indiscretion since you so promptly answered this question.
your welcome. and, thank you. :D K |
Previous indiscretion?!?!? Who, ME!!!??
|
Kristen,
Your knock offs should be checked almost daily when you drive the car to be sure they are tight. As for a set torque like with lugnuts, I am not certain, but I would bet that Gary can tell you. I have know a couple of people who hammered them on so tight they had frozen and had to be cut off. Ron |
I do check air level and safety wire every time I head out.
new tires, old tires, wheels are loaded in the truck and ready to leave. Seeya! I tried to load a couple of pics into gallery, but wouldn't work.... maybe later; must be a glitch. |
Pictures Kristen,
You know we can't wait till later. What's wrong with you!:):JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE |
Hey Steve...you got any engine blocks sitting around?
|
I thought you had a 390 coming or something.
Hunting for another?? There was some guy selling a pair of 427 engines. I need to wash the car. |
Steve,
Wash the car. Why? It will just get dirty again. Maybe you need more snow so you can't take it out and get it dirty. :D :3DSMILE: Ron  Kristen, We are waiting for the pictures.  %/ |
Sure am glad you are wishing snow on Steve, I am not sure I could handle more. I am still getting over the stuff we had.
|
steve's not washing the car. trularin is.....
I've tried to load the pics 3 times!! Surely the problem isn't at this end!!?? :JEKYLHYDE I only have about 15 pages in my gallery! I think I know how to load pics by now. :D must be a CC problem. Tires/wheels are ready! Will go pick up this afternoon. Gotta go get the whiney girls and hoodlums in a bit. :( Just bought me the cutest thing. A new pair of converse sneakers. Baby blue, not high tops. WHEN I CAN POST A PICTURE I'LL TAKE ONE AND POST THEM!!!   wore them out of the store, just like a kid. Bought the teacher gifts. Gift cards to Chili's. Now I'll head to Target to get candy and goodies for the little bags. Bought hubby some shorts at old navy. Lots of frames at Michael's. (where I bought the paint the other day; one of my poster size frames for garage was too small, had to exchange it) End of year uniform sale for school is next Tuesday. I don't know why I sign up for this stuff. :( I've washed 3 loads of uniforms from all the lost and founds all over the place. Then I'll sell them as a fundraiser for school. Did I tell ya'll I raised $1200 dollars in March when I did that? I've called all my girlfriends about my new shoes. Nobody answered. :( Had to settle for my brother in Seattle. Hubby is playing cowboy today. Except that I've got the truck..... hmmmmm. gotta get going to Target!!! seeya! and, when they fix the pic posting issue I'll then post! K |
Not washing the car and it is 80* here today so no snow for me.
Hey Ron: It's not raining here either. I better shut up and go mow before it starts thought. 10% chance this evening so it will probably come a toad strangler.:JEKYLHYDE |

I played with the kids, got my two mile daily walk in had a shower and an ice cold beer (so much for the walk) Ahhhh time to relax. See you guys in the morning............ ...... ... .. |

FWW...before you put your wheels back on lube the hubs liberally with anti-seize compound as well put some around the wheel hub surfaces and inner face of the spinner. This will help prevent galling between dissimilar metals and/or heat ie brake heat during track events. Use a 6lb lead hammer and just snug the wheels while on the jackstands, once on the ground then give each spinner a good whack or two, once you've done the on/off thing a couple of times you'll be able to hear/sense when the spinners are tight. Every time before you drive the car take your hammer and rap the spinners on all wheels, not a pile-driver hit just a solid tap. Remember "tight a$$" to tighten(toward the rear of the car), "loose goose" to loosen(toward the front of the car). Safety wire on the spinner ears is a good idea also if you don't have them already. |
Been pretty busy this week... we started finishing off the top part of our attic. Rough framing's done, did the insulation last night, next step is drywall.
|
Well everybody,
I'm off to Reno! hold down the Fort. |
Hi all. Just enjoying the last of the sunshine here before winter sets in.
At 18c (66F) and sunny it's real driving weather - hat and jacket. :MECOOL:..roof off and cruising in the neighbours '32 roadster. Bernie |
Gee Bernie, I thought you were coming here in the next week or two. Good way to avoid Aussie Winter.
Hope to see you at the London show. With all you not having rain, It rained all afternoon yesterday. So, you all have to have rain, so I can get some sun ( got to love the logic of that ). :3DSMILE: |
